It has nothing to do with Summerfields, but with the type of dryer you have or plan to use. You can have either gas or electric dryer. Both the utilities are available in dryer room.

The sales office advised us to purchase a gas dryer.

GTG2007:
I contacted sales office last week about mailbox. I was told that the mailbox will be installed soon in some selected streets depending upon number of completed homes on that street.

I saw that Hopkinson Lane has mailboxes installed, as well as Willox Circle on the West side (near sales office). The concrete foundations for mailboxes were poured last week for Boudinot Lane homes. We expect mailboxes on Schenck Lane by Christmas, as there are several homes still under construction.

Meanwhile I have to go to Somerset post office (at 500 Demott Lane) to pick up mail. One of the postal clerks (lives in Summerfield) is very helpful. The post office is near Demott Lane and Amwell Road. Best way to reach is to take Metlars Lane from Schoolhouse road, turn left on Amwell Road and then turn left on Demott Lane. The post office is on right side.

For those that have moved in, have the issues on your punch list been taken care of?
Barely anything from the original walk through has been resolved. Yet, the issues were recorded as closed/fixed on their records. We recently did our 30 day list and not sure what to expect. Have you been more aggressive on getting these issues fixed?

Default Closing delays

Has anybody closed recently after mid november in summerfields? So far they have moved closing date for us by few times. Now they are saying waiting for the certificate of occupancy. Why the delay? Is this because of Sandy or process/communication issue with summerfields/Franklin Township? I am trying to find out if it is happening for us or others too.

Thanks.

Delay of around 7-10 days is normal. It has happened to me
After nov 15. Don't worry.summerfields have good
Relations with municipality. Thanksgiving week would have also
Caused some delay.

GTG2007:

The garbage disposal company recommended by the sales office is Active Garbage Disposal 908-722-8484. It is also used by almost all residents. It will provide you a free wheelable 20 gallon plastic garbage bin. Charges $17/month. Comes twice a week-Monday and Thursday mornings. We use their services. For new comers, they will even take miscellaneous garbage stuff such as packaging, etc. Very good service and will start the service the very next day. Offers only kitchen garbage or general trash collections. Big items such as mattresses, furnitures are charged extra (call them).

The Franklin township Recycling Center number is 732-469-3363 x7956. They have twice a month collection services (free) for recycles such as plastic, glass, newspapers, etc. You need to pick up plastic recycle bin (ask for two) from their office (municipal garage) on Church Hill Road.

Thank you GTG007. My attorney just called and closing has been postponed. He is saying it is because of Sandy, Municipal Engineers need to take a look at all the houses again before issuing certificate of occupancy.
