I have known a lot of Irish-Americans here in Albuquerque having worked at a now defunct 'Celtic' music shop in the UNM area, But it may be worth mentioning that New Mexico is the only state in America where people of Scottish heritage (Ulster Scots aside) outnumber people of Irish Heritage.
Sorry for the delay there. I'm from Rathfarnham, although I lived in about nine different parts of the city after I left home to go to DCU. How about you?
I am living in Santa Fe and singing Irish music where ever I can. There's a wonderful Iishman name Gerry Carthy who entertains all of town. Contact me if you would like to connect.
Born in Michigan but an Irish citizen thanks to a grandfather from Co Antrim.
Well, I am only about a 1/16th Irish, but my wife is 100% Rhode Island Irish Catholic. Son Liam would be about 56%. Love just about everything about the folk, except the temper.
Took Fulbright to Galway a few years back, we all lived in Galway City. Amazing place! What a spirit! Hosted a feisty Irish lass here last year. We all had fun.

I don't live in NM, but I do love a pint and a bit of craic.
It's not strictly Irish music, but rather covers Celtic culture in general. I listen to it every Sunday between 5 and 6pm on KENW-FM. This station covers all of eastern NM and parts of West Texas with it's main transmitter located at ENMU, Portales.
Ive listened to that a few times when I lived out in the sticks, its was a pretty good show from what I remembered. Since I moved into Clayton and got Sirius I haven't listened to anything else.
Last weekend we attended "The Cripple of Inishmaan", a play written by Irishman Martin McDonagh, at the Vortex Theatre in Nob Hill after seeing the writeup in the ABQ Journal. It was very enjoyable! $15 tickets and you can book online. This is one of a series of Irish plays currently running about ABQ. The Vortex Theatre: Current & Upcoming Productions (Home)
Sounds interesting for sure, if I was a little bit closer to Burque I would definitely check that out.
