Yes Walmart is my bff, there is also a furniture chain called bx furniture that say "40 down and take home today" And it's like a period of time interest free... I wouldn't be able to tell you how it works but I can give you websites if you are interested.

Rent-to-own models are such scams. You're better off applying for a credit card and paying it off on your own time. Sure, you can get what you want "now", but most times you are paying almost, or even more than twice as much over time.

I know it's tough, but to be blatantly ripped off like that? Is it really worth it?

I took a look at a bedroom set on Rent-A-Center that allegedly costs $832 upfront. But why pay up front when you can have it today at the "low" cost of only $19.99 per week for 91 weeks? $19.99 x 91 = $1,819.08...
More than TWICE as much as the up front cost.

That's $987 of cash just wasted. That could go to food, bills, rent. ANYTHING.

There has to be some other way than using RAC, Aaron's or any of those other ripoff stores.

I'd rather sleep on an air mattress for a few months than throw $1,000 down the drain.

Radeo has a point, I was going to buy a sofa from them and paying 20ish a week after the time period was over , I was paying over double the price of the sofa. So I was like nah I'll pass lol but that 40 dollar down place has an instagram it's bx_furniture_1602 and you can DM questions, I've seen the chain all over the Bronx

If you know you will be getting enough money say from tax returns or something then consider opening a new credit card. First year is usually 0% interest. BUT ONLY do this IF you know you will have the money to pay it off shortly. Don't get yourself in credit card trouble.
