Rent-to-own models are such scams. You're better off applying for a credit card and paying it off on your own time. Sure, you can get what you want "now", but most times you are paying almost, or even more than twice as much
over time.
I know it's tough, but to be blatantly ripped off like that? Is it really worth it?
I took a look at a bedroom set on Rent-A-Center that allegedly costs $832 upfront. But why pay up front when you can have it today at the "low" cost of only $19.99 per week for 91 weeks? $19.99 x 91 = $1,819.08...
More than TWICE as much as the up front cost.
That's $987 of cash just wasted. That could go to food, bills, rent. ANYTHING.
There has to be some other way than using RAC, Aaron's or any of those other ripoff stores.
I'd rather sleep on an air mattress for a few months than throw $1,000 down the drain.
