We are a community of Potential Masaryk Towers Residents!
We post as much information as we find. Since I'm waiting for a 2 Bedroom I usually let everyone know what number the list is at when I call. Please join us and post any information that you find. Best of luck on your wait.
If you move first Dinner Party at your apartment :-D
I am pretty positive that most people here will be moving before me by many years. That said, we will most definitely host a dinner party because indeed we are known as a fab cook and host! Thank you for your best wishes and words. I am happy to be among this community and wish everyone the best of luck!
You never know. What is your number? I'm on the 2bedroom list since 2010 I have number 1100's and the number is about 750. I have about 350 numbers to go! I'm expecting another 2 years although that might be wishful thinking.
Hi, Melizli. What type of questions did they ask during the interview? Did you interview in their office or did they visit you? Were they dressed up or down (jeans)? What type of credit score are they looking for? What type of documents are they asking for to verify your income? Did they just use your 2013 NY tax return and current pay statments? Did they call your employer and previous landlords? How long is the whole process after the interview? I hope you get the place. I walked by the neighborhood last weekend and saw major improvement since March. I've been calling their office (212)982-2212 since last thursday but can't get through. All I get is a busy signal.
i applied to the stack ( a rental ) just 6 month ago, i am Log # 7788, but i have to do application next week.
I am also on the list for the park clinton co-op on west 52rd, i was asked to do the application but have heard nothing since not even a log #,it's been about a year. I received a letter saying they had an overwhelming # of applications.
So the affordable housing rentals move faster than the co-ops, the place on 52nd looked fully occupied.
@popartist, Thank you! What happen to me if Masaryk leave Mitchell lama,sale to market rate? Am I going to be forced to buy in market rate otherwise have to move out? If Madaryk leave the program, raise the rent to market rate, can I take my money back and move out?
@Lnycnyc
Their phone was broken last week. They visited me. Need Tax return of 2013. If you don't have job verification letter then provide tax return of 2012 too. One to two month of process after interview. Good Luck!

It will be a long time before Masaryk leaves Mitchell Lama, if ever. Maintenance could go up if that ever happened but you would not be made to pay more in equity - you would also be able to sell your shares/apartment for market rate. Even if a flip tax takes half of your sale, the profit you'd make would be at least 30x what you paid for it. But, like I said, Masaryk will still be Mitchell Lama for a very long time, likely forever.
I believe that in 2012 Masaryk towers agreed to stay in the Mitchell lama program for 30 more year. If you leave you will get you equity back (money put in for the shares).
The website has the income limit below. Did they stick to this? Or did Masaryk have different income requirements? In a website that I read said that some Mitchell lama programs allow the income to be 125 then the median income. Do you know if that is true?
