The mandatory evacuation order for zone A remains in effect as the buildings in that area have not yet been inspected.

I have friends in Breezy Point that I have been unable to reach. Has anyone reported what block or addresses were the homes that burned down? How many homes are in the area? I am so hoping that my poor friend's house didn't burn down.

I hope your friend's house survived the night! This article says the fire was in the area of Beach 207th Street and Ocean Avenue -- does that help pinpoint the location?

I was listening to the FDNY scanner last night and I know that Futon walk burned as well as many of the 'walk' streets directly to the east of fulton.
