Whites are not similarly killed for doing the same kinds of crimes, or even arguably greater crimes (dealing and using cocaine). You know very well that's the case, and you gloss over it.
As for him being a poor criminal, no one said he was a genius. He was an idiot. But being an idiot does not mean you deserve to die.
Blacks tend to resist arrest more. They also get loud which isn't illegal but can only make the situation worse.
They tend to be more aggressive and loud
He didn't deserve to die, but he did it to himself knowing that he was overweight with asthma and resisting arrest which will ALWAYS result in the cop using brute force no matter what race or sex

Why did you not respond to the post detailing NYC's sale of six housing projects to developers?
Clearly the city's underclass will be moved out to wherever, making all this debate on policing entirely moot. There will be few if any incidents between the police and poor Blacks because the majority of them will be moved out of the city.
I wonder why did so called conservatives ignore something that is clearly so influential to the future of the city.
The problem with Nywriter's theory is that he is seizing upon one tragic story to paint a false picture of the justice system.
Not every - or even a noticeable percentage - of minority criminals who encounter the police are killed, injured, or even sent to jail at all. On the contrary, just like every other race, when arrested for low level crimes, minority perps overwhelmingly receive desk appearance tickets, ACD's, time served, etc. Anyone who tries to debate that fact has clearly never spent a minute in an arraignment court part in NYC.
As others have said, the Eric Garners (not GarDner Nywriter...) of the world blatantly conduct their illegal activity right out in the open where everyone, including cops of course, can see them, while the Phillip Seymour Hoffman's of the world hole up in their fancy apartments and art gallery functions to stick needles in their own arms.
Airborneguy, I obviously know that the majority of minority criminals are not killed or even sent to jail. I know what desk appearance tickets and ACDs are. It does seem like when they are unnecessarily killed, that there's no tendency for the cops to be indicted or prosecuted. Garner's death could have been avoided, even if they had to take him down.

How many people overall have been similarly killed for selling loosies?
In an interview with meet the press accompanied by Sharpton, Esaw Garner the "widow" of Eric Garner spoke of how she moved off Staten Island because she fears Police and Spoke of how lazy Garner was and his inablity to hold down a job due to his medical issues and overall laziness. Isn't this the same person who when Cops gave her a citation for burnt out headlight she called Sharpton and than the cops came to fix the headlight and essentially fixed the ticket? Now she is afraid of the cops??
"I lived two, three blocks, tops, away from the [120th precinct]. So if there's a bottle thrown on my block, the 120 is coming to see about it. If there's an argument or a fight between neighbors or something, the 120 is coming to this. I couldn't stay there anymore. You know? And everything on Staten Island is centered on Bay Street. So one way or the other, you had to go to Bay Street. And that's where they all are. And they all knew where I was as well, you know. I'm not going to say he was a career criminal, but I'm going to say he had a past of being arrested... He tried working with the Parks Department. But he had asthma. You know? He had issues. You know? Heavy guy. And he was very lazy. You know? He didn't like to do anything. He wasn't used to it, so."
Have you ever had someone speak trash about one of your family members that you loved that died?
Or do you even care that we should show respect to people who have died by not saying anything bad about them, since dead people can no longer hurt us, or defend themselves. In that regard, maybe it is better to ignore their faults and remember only their good ones. Making the kind of mistakes that Eric Garner did, is not supposed to merit the death penalty.

That's what happens when you involve Al sharpton and sue the city. Welcome to reality
