Indeed. Cops assassinations are completely unacceptable, and yes cops were unfairly completely demonize. If you saw my posts on the twisted media coverage of these matters you would know my thoughts on this.

Are you White? Whites still have nothing to worry about when being stopped and searched.

So why does the union have to phrase this like a threat? "OK, we will only do our jobs." Yeah, whatever.
As if they are preventing major crime from happening in the city. They are "reactive" not proactive unless it's a security detail or special occasion to do so. I remember cops on the beat! Now, they swoop down on people for the most minor things and kill them.

STATEMENT OF CHUCK CANTERBURY, NATIONAL PRESIDENT, FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE 12/21/2014
Yesterday, NYPD Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were murdered in New York City by a coward who invoked race as a motive.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Politicians have spent the months since the tragedy in Ferguson piously wringing their hands and bemoaning the lack of trust of police by the minority community. Mayors and Congressmen and Senators and professional racists from all sides have seized on the moment to advance their often self-serving opinions of what is wrong in America as a hyperventilating media nods knowingly and faithfully reports each and every word. Enough is enough.
While these politicians and their retinues ignore the decaying infrastructure of our cities, the substandard educational system, the nonexistent families, the poor nutrition, the lack of employment opportunities--all of which create a toxic environment which breeds crime--they focus with laser vision on every real or perceived mistake made by the cops fighting a running battle to keep the streets safe for our poorest and most disadvantaged citizens in our country's worst pockets.
Enough is enough. There's nothing wrong with the way cops do their jobs that won't be fixed when politicians suck it up and attack the problems that breed poverty and crime--but they're not going to do that. The media professes shock when we speak out--well, buckle them on America--you're going to hear a lot from our 325,000 members in the days and months ahead. Some of you may not like it, but you would do well to listen. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Of course the rhettoric is there for us all to read. However, the facts still remain. Does not matter how many times they try to obscure: Blacks who are and are not criminals are not treated the same as their White counterparts in matters of arrest and judicial procedures in this country. It is what it is.

I think Blacks are tired too. However, as you can see not one individual Black in NYC committed a crime against any police officer. Let's not forget who assaulted them on the Brooklyn Bridge. The cops could have opened fire (like they would if it were a Black) but they did not. All a show, that many are tired of seeing.

It's time to stop blaming other races for our own fears and mistrust. Let's own them on our own.

Cry me a river, sheesh, playing the same card over and over and over and over again gets old....if you get stopped, the first words out of your mouth when the police officer asks for your ID/license/registration/insurance card should be "yes sir/maam"....period

An individual Black just killed two non Black police officers in Brooklyn.

If you want to say there are bad cops, yes there are. But you must also admit the existence of Black criminals and separate them from law abiding Blacks. Ditto other so called minorities.

And yes, there are certain problems that breed poverty and crime that the nation will need to address (including continued welfare reform) and maybe issues like immigration.

Further reduce welfare rolls and make employers verify legal status and push those people formerly on welfare to look for work.
