You need to understand that western societies at the time are built off if some sort of free labor. Either by indentured servitude, serfdom or slavery. All of which are engines or tools of free labor. Also free labor is not cheap either. The master must make sure his flock is feed, sheltered, clothed and in overall good health. If not production of goods and service will drop or gradually diminish. What caused the end of free labor? It was not the enlightenment, age of reason, Karl Marx and or the revolutions of 1843 that swept across the western world from Russia to Chile. It was the industrial revolution that put the nail in the coffin for free human labor in the West. Also religious Christian fervor also put an end to free labor tactics in the name of morality. Even here in the United States and much of the Western world. Slavery still existed with child labor from orphanage systems and prison industrial complexes. Thankfully laws have finished child labor. Prison reform should be next.

After the recognition of independence and the convention to replace the articles of confederation with the Constitution. The idea to eliminate slavery was a touchy subject. Not for nothing, a great deal of delegates wanted to do away with the slave system.

The reason why the British lost the American rebellion. The British used poor tactics, and poor leadership. Also majority of colonial residents did not support the revolution. The revolution halted economic progress. Also if one was a slave from a rebellious colony, the British would grant such slave emancipation if they fought for the British Empire and King. Let's not forget that American colonies received aid from the Latin speaking Catholic races known as the Spanish and the French.

The failure of the American Revolution on the behalf of the British paved the way how to better manage white colonies of the Empire. This is why colonies such as Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and Canada received Dominion status which gives them autonomy, while colored colonies from Hong Kong to Belize remained crown colonies. The favoritism of autonomous white colonies paved the way ghandi independence for India, Malaysia, Guyana, Africa and middle eastern countries to flirt with socialism.

Facts and truth.
African American families like mine have been here since the 1600s. Most of us have some ancestry from the white colonialists. The trolls on this forum are likely second generation or third generation Americans. People like you are definitely not second class, you have no class st all.

Like NYCWriter I can say similiar. Infact, my birth mother is a white, descendants of New England Puritans. My father a man of biracial European and African American descent. I dont identify with whites or blacks as I was adopted by Puerto Ricans as an infant. I later have met members of my maternal side. They are succesful, have enjoyed generations of inherited assests passed down in the form of property. Makes me wonder how life would have been diferent had I been raised among them.
