Did you vote for Obama? He only came around to supporting same sex marriage after he already kicked off his campaign for a second term. Were you repulsed by his position?
Anyhoo, same sex marriage isn't going anywhere in NYS. The culture wars on this issue are a non factor for the overwhelming majority of people. Most will vote on bread and butter issues, but obviously not all.

I think Hochul will still pull it out but if the margin was 5%, Kamala and Hillary wouldn't be out stumping for her. Their internal polls are probably fairly ugly. It appears that it'll be very, very close. Most likely within 3% or less. Wouldn't be surprised if the race is within 1% either way.
What they're afraid of is high turnout against Hochul from those that tend not to vote and the peeling off of some traditionally Democrat voters amongst Asians and now Hasids/ Orthodox Jews (who reliably voted for Cuomo).
This election will hinge on turnout. Will all those welfare programs that the Democrats used to buy votes over the past 10 years ultimately do what they were originally intended for all along? If they lose this, it changes the entire dynamic in NYC.

Don’t underestimate the power of Dems in election cheats as they always play. If Biden could hack it with a big gap after Trump in 2020, It is a piece of cake for H to reproduce it without raising a question from NYERS.

To be honest, I've never bought into the election cheating thing. Does election fraud happen? Oh course. Is it happening on a scale to tip national or even state elections? I very much doubt it. I can see it being possible for local elections.
The truth is if the Democrats can turn out their "base" aka the welfare class in NYC, there is no way Republicans win. This is all about turnout on both sides.
