We used to play neighborhood baseball and football when I was a kid. It was fun. You just played to have fun. Then as a young guy I followed a pro football team every season for many years. But that's about it. I still enjoy going to watch a baseball game so I can do the "wave" and eat a hotdog every once in a while but really, watching other hairy-legged men play kid games ain't me anymore. Not to say I never watch any sports now but I would much rather watch women's sports when I do; softball, track, weight lifting... and I watch men's weight lifting, or boxing but that is like once or twice a year.

Lol oh come on it’s all in humor. There’s also a group of people who believe that unless you’re an avid mma practitioner, you shouldn’t wear ufc/tapout shirts. Y’all get so sensitive over your jerseys and colors and all that crap, it’s amusing to us outsiders. You probably think us outsiders are odd as heck and that’s ok! Shoot, when a guy strikes up a conversation with me about “the game” and I say I didn’t watch it, it’s like watching a deer in headlights - brain does not compute.

Ever since then I've been fascinated with men that aren't into sports.

Sports, in general, are fine if I am participating. Watching sports is a bit like watching pornography. I am not participating therefore I am not really enjoying it.

I love reading people say that if you only understood it, you would like it. I *get* it but there isn’t enough happening to keep me interested. I have to admit I don’t get hockey whatsoever, but I have also never been to a game and am from FL, so it isn’t like it was a big activity there. We would get offers of really cheap NHL seats in HS, but the games weren’t really super close and I had no way to get there.

I do like outdoor activities, and for some reason I LOVE watching extreme sports documentaries. If there is a doc about someone climbing a high mountain? Sign me up? Kayaking a huge waterfall? That extreme eco race thing on Amazon Prime? Loved it. People running ultra desert marathons? Yep… I have literally done none of these things, but they are fun to watch.
Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup two very recent years in a row. Don't get me wrong. I am living in Canada and don't get hockey either, but surely some Floridians do!

I have gone to a couple of Jersey Devils games. It is fun to watch live, I have to say.

Those extreme sports things would just bore me. We all have our preferences.

Football to me is the stupidest thing ever. Bunch of men crashing into one another to go a few feet. Besides, I still have PTSD from a long-ago marriage when my ex would bet our rent money and then some on the games. It took a long time before I could even hear a game on TV without tensing up. Bookies calling and threatening g to shoot the dog, him borrowing from a loan shark at work who charged 5% a week. Mattie the Blade. Still remember his name.

My father and brothers weren't into sports so I had no idea this whole football/gambling world existed. I know not everyone gambles on the games, but a heck of a lot of people do.

But I am watching the Jays game right now.

Matcl, I think self-proclaimed creatives, fashionistas, art fanatics and foodies are way worse than sport fanatics. And they're snobs to boot.

I have no interest in boxing, but strangely, I loved two boxing movies, Raging Bull and Cinderella Man.

It’s safe to say people who don’t share our particular interests can seem alien.

I have become bored with sports as I get up in my age. I used to a big fan of our city's NBA team but not really interested in them since all the "good" players from my era have retired. Don't even have a favorite NFL team and can't even tell you who won the last 2 Super Bowls. Jerry Jones made me not EVER want to become a Dallas fan. I would rather tinker in my garage and work on DIY projects every Saturday/Sunday. It is what it is.

I think there is a danger that the people who run sports can destroy the product. The best example of that is boxing. My grandfather who was born in 1896 was only interested in one sport and that was boxing. I remember him listening to heavy weight boxing matches on the radio. I'll bet a boxing match hasn't been broadcast on the radio since the 1960s.

Not really. I don't care about fashon but I love art, food and design but can't stand most fans and those who create them as personalities. Heck, posting on music message boards is a pain in the behind, especially the rock and pop sections.
