Hi,

Driving down I-95 in Dec. and looking for a clean, comfortable, quiet motel. Does not need to be fancy. Found the Redwood Motor Lodge in Lumberton. Anyone familiar with it or any other place nearby? Thanks!

Where are you going/coming from? Does it have to be Lumberton, or just somewhere off of 95? Lumberton/that whole area, I tend to avoid as a native NCer. Fayetteville would have more options, but I probably would stay somewhere around Smithfield, if I needed a place to stay.

Agreed. There are some nice places right near the Pottery place, though most are national chains. You really never quite know what you're getting at "Mom & Pop" motels on an interstate, and planning on one could make you really in for an unpleasant surprise when you see it (I once stayed at such a place that had little signs in the bathroom taped up saying "Please do not drink our water without boiling it first"!).

You are wise in asking for firsthand advice, though natives of NC are probably not the ones who will know the features of interstate motels.
