I saw those ads too. I pull in WXII (NBC 12) from the Triad using rabbit ears in my house. McCrory knows he's in trouble come November. I haven't seen any anti-McCrory ads yet.

Au contraire! Now he's become a "National Doofus" with people remarking "oh, that's the stupid one!" A good percentage of the population who are so upset about the bathroom issue wouldn't be able to identify many transgendered individuals if they fell over them. Many school systems are already in compliance with the recommended changes and have been ...long before HB2 or Charlotte had ever brought up the issue.
Let me guess you have no daughters or granddaughters. Men in women's restrooms sounds like a nightmare to me. When can we get some civil rights for women and children? When did women and children become second class citizens with no rights to privacy and safety? Talk about a war on women.
This is the same tired argument, and it has been proven by every other city that has passed these laws it doesn't happen. What stops a perverted man now from walking into a bathroom? A door?
Actually, this is false. There have been multiple reports in this country and Canada of issues, but people choose to keep downplaying them. Recently, I believe in a northwestern state, a male entered the girls shower on more than one occasion, taking his shirt off to start showering. The girls in the showers were all upset, yelling at the boy to get out and asking why he was in there with them. He said he identifies as a female, so the law no allows me to shower here.
Many, many issues already happening all over. What bugs me about the coverage, is they keep talking about the toilets and forget about the locker rooms and showers. Then if they do get brought up, they have a look on their face like they just swallowed one month old milk. Let's talk about it from the shower end of things FIRST!
I saw those ads as well. They were produced by the Republican Governors Association. In the commercial, Roy Cooper is accused of raising taxes on everything other than sunlight! I've lived here nearly 11 years and he's been the AG the entire time. When was all of this raising of taxes happening? I do know that Governor McCrory has raised sales taxes on a wide variety of products and services, and with the storm of HB2 over his head, it will be a very interesting election season. To be fair, Governor McCrory and his legislative cronies did lower income tax rates, but since I have little taxable NC income, I'm more upset with sales tax on almost everything under the sun! Governor Pat has morphed from a moderate Republican to a vicious, right-wing lapdog in service to the small-brained leaders of his party. I can't wait until November to rid NC of Pat's poor leadership!
So because "you" have to pay taxes, you are upset? Is that what this is all about? Who do you think should pay "your" taxes for you?
I am always happy to pay more taxes, as long as it is limited in initial phase, targeted and results measurable.
Sales taxes are on more items to make up for the massive tax cuts that the wealthy got. If you lived here you would know it.
You do realize that whatever is done with tax rates by either side is simply a redirect of reality.
It does not matter what the tax "rates" are, when there are so many types of exceptions, deductions, write-offs, loop-holes, depreciations, etc, etc. They have people so fixated on a tax rate number, which in all reality means absolutely nothing, because all the real adjustments to income are being manipulated behind the scenes.
People need to wake up to the fact that Dems and Rupubs, having been playing them and playing them good for years, with this phony "tax rate" crap.
And enough of the "if you lived here you would know it" montra. I have lived there for many years, so I am familiar with many things. My wife still is employed there and is tuned into things. Also, they have a thing called the internet now and you can find all kinds of local and state information on NC.....so spare me that old line and let me have 1.75 seconds of my life back, so not to waste it. Actually, over the decades, cases have come up of males transgressing into female bathrooms & other facilities. Those have not been because of trans people.
Normal boys aren't going to go into a female facility & announce that they've just found their inner female. If it happens, the offender will receive treatment & officials may find it necessary to tighten up controls.
Nothing in these laws says that any males of any persuasion are welcome to go peeping in female restrooms & showers. If it is necessary, it's easy enough to add that transgressions will result in psychiatric treatment &/or criminal charges.

That one for the northwest was just a regular Joe. But the law only requires that you identify as a female, so he says he does and started to proceed to shower with them. It is basically an honor system at the point of the shower. There are not usually shower police. If someone says they are trans, then they are trans. No proof on the spot.He was not peeping, taking pictures or anything like that. I did make all the girls upset and uncomfortable though, which is exactly what so many of us are trying to say. Buy no worries, by having the POTUS threaten not just NC, but all schools across the country with loosing funding, unless they all do it HIS way.......well, I think he just woke up the Calvary. Gotta love his style of inclusiveness. You know, getting everyone together to discuss things first, THEN make a decision.
