It's not as simple as thinking what I want and what you want. This is of supreme importance. I thought the same way before 9/11 and the same way after.

We need to stop pandering to the liberal far left in this country and stop caring what other nations think of what or how we secure our safety.

If you want our military modeled after that of the Israelis, that shocks me. No one is pandering to anyone. After all isn't this the conservatives deal - that torturing is a-OK?

We need to care what other nations think if we want to remain a super power in the world. No one ever trusts or wants to help hypocrites.

The left-wingers should think long and hard about that on this Memorial Day weekend and throw their PC agendas out the window.

:sigh: We won't continue to be one of the greatest if we continue to be as hypocritical as we have been for the last decade or so. Is it really that hard to see that nations don't trust those who don't practice what they preach?

We must care what other nations think of us since we are inextricably linked with them when it comes to our economy and our protection. Other nations help protect us, ya know?

Our way of life? Which is what? Not abiding by deals we signed? Not adhering to things we've said? You want to continue that way of life? Or would you rather we were a nation of our word? A nation others can trust when we make a pact with them?

And if you say "PC agenda" one more time, I'll scream. I am the least PC person you will meet. Damn it, it has to do with being an upstanding, trustworthy nation. NOT BEING POLITICALLY CORRECT. It's about honoring our word. It's about being better than our enemies. It's about being a true beacon of hope to the world.

I don't need to think about this stuff tomorrow. I don't need a special day to mourn the loss of TRUE American values:

Honesty, Trustworthyness, and Loyalty.

UH,OH...I better be careful...you have someone that complains about.."extreme patriotic" sayings and such..as being too political and controversal, but yet they post
NATIONAL POLITICS ON A LOCAL POLTICS THREAD...Isn't that
being a hypocrite?....double standards to say the least...but..who cares what
any of these people that haven't had any real life experience have to say..
they just don't know any better....and GOD BLESS AMERICA...

What MOD edited for inappropriate language are you talking about? I didn't read all 68 pages of this thread. I have a life. I am debating this and if a mod has a problem let them talk to me about it. Report my posts along with the 10 others who have been posting on this subject.

And I LOVE how you people say that those of us who don't support raping men with broomsticks and mothers in front of their kids don't have any real life experience. What a joke.

God Bless America Indeed. We'll need it when other nations get sick of our double talking, lying, cowardly acts.

OHHH

And one more thing? Please don't ever call me a hypocrite again. It's against TOS for one. Secondly? *I* didn't start this subject, dear. So perhaps you should go back, find the one who did and report them.

And learn to debate FACTS instead of waving your American icons all over the internet as if that means something.

Retired Law:

Answer me these questions:

Why is it ok for us to condemn others for human rights violations when we participate in the very same violations?

Why is it ok for us to violate an agreement we signed with all other major countries of the world?

Why is it ok for us to hold SUSPECTED terrorists for YEARS without trial?

Do you honestly think these things are the AMERICAN way of doing things? Really?!

OK, calm down. No one called you a hypocrite. We're just trying to understand your views and where you are coming from. Who says we support raping men with broomsticks? You're reading way too much into what we actually stated.

For one, I don't believe terrorists need a trial. That would be treating them fairly, something they didn't do when they decided to destroy our buildings. What deal aren't we upholding? If you're talking the Geneva Convention, it doesn't apply here.

I won't say you're PC anymore, because you said you aren't. But let me ask you this question. Do you support abortion? Because if you do, isn't that being hypocritical? It's OK to kill unborn babies, but not alright to torture terrorists, who hate us and want us dead?

Actually Retired Law did. I have stated several times why my views are as they are. Far more indepth than the "they are terrorists, they must die" that I have seen.

The torture methods that have been used included the things I have said. I understand that the terrorists didn't treat us fairly. But too bad. We are supposed to be BETTER than them and we are supposed to give people a fair trial in American courts. We have signed the Geneva Conventions (there were four, not just one) where it has already been decided that terrorist suspects are protected by said deal.

I do not support abortion. And it is not hypocritical to be pro-choice any more than it is to be pro-life and support the death penalty. And that will be the end of my discussion on abortion. LOL
