This will be my first year that I will be here for the spring. Are there any plants or flowers that you would suggest for me to plant that the deer will not eat? Thank you.

LOL Hi Sheila!! Marigolds, mums, geraniums, Wax begonia.
Plants Deer Will Not Eat
But they will eat things in the winter that they wont eat in the summer. My deer resistant shubs probably wont be able to recover this year! : (

Those are some hungry deer Mathjak! lol I have never had them eat my marigolds or mums, I was really surprised that they didnt eat the wax begonias. And All these plants were right out in my garden by the road. The deer walked past it 5 times a day. Also Sheila they have a repellent that smells just awful, but it does keep the deer away. But if it rains you need to respray.

We never had any luck growing anything, even deer resistant plants. The problem is every deer in the neighborhood will take one bite out of your plant. By the time every deer has taken his/her bite, you have nubs left. We did have a neighbor that used some kind of spray. I think it had coyote or wolf urine in it. I never thought it was worth it. We just didn't have any plants.

Good luck.

Go to K-Mart and buy several pairs of cheap green socks. Wear the socks. Hang the dirty socks on the bushes you want to save from the hungry deer. If it rains, you'll have to wear the socks again to get the human scent on them. Supposedly, the human smell repels the deer.
I don't know if it works, but it couldn't hurt, right?

Oh, won't the neighbors love the new people with socks hanging all over the plants and bushes. LOL. Kristen, you feed them by hand right? Don't think the socks would scare them away,,

the deer in our development are so used to people that it dosnt matter if your around or not. our backyard at night is like wild kingdom whether we are there or not. some people actually feed them so they welcome the human scent. ha ha
