Moving to Herndon to work for Lockheed in January. Need advice on this area. Apartments, living....any knowledge you have.

Also how is Reston, not too far away so could commute.

*********Getting a apartment. Not looking to pay a rm and a leg. Looking at Archestone Woodland Park if I stay in Herndon***********

Reply please....

Reston is close by - maybe 10-15 minutes, and the neighborhoods are nice. I had a house in 20171, schools were good, and it was easy to get to many places. Dulles Toll Road is fairly close by. Archstone always seemed like nice apartments.

20171 is a nice area code although it is a very self-segregated place. What do I mean by this? Well, in the parts of 20171 that I'm familiar with, the McNair farms area has a larger proportion of Indians and hispanics while the Franklin Farm area has a larger proportion of whites and asians.

Also, the 20171 area code borders the 20191 area code which is Reston. Therefore, depending on where you are in the 20171 area code, Reston can be as little as "0" minutes away.
