Mark's Duck House in Falls Church is great for duck and other authentic Chinese cuisine. It's mostly Chinese people that eat at the restaurant so you know it's good. They do dim sum carts for lunch, but I don't think they have them for dinner.

I lived in Thailand for two years, and I will agree on the 54. Also, the Rincon in Arlington is clean, authentic, and reasonable--the owner is from BKK. Same family for 22 years.

Here are some Chinese restaurants that are good. China Garden in Rosslyn and as mentioned before, Mark's Duck House in Falls Church and Peking Gourmet Inn in Falls Church. As for good Vietnamese food, Eden Center in Falls Church has a wide selection.

I love Crystal Thai in Arlington (Route 50), and (if still there) Little Viet Garden in Clarendon/Arlingotn.

If you're on a budget and at the Crystal City mall, go over to Pentagon Row and get Chinese take out from Tasteful Delight (they're next to World Market and the Rite Aid). They also have great basil chicken, free tea, and a great staff. I love that place!

For Thai I like Pilin in Falls Church (corner of Rts 7 and 29).
Fortune in 7 Corners does a great dim sum. Also enjoy Full Kee on Bailey's Crossroads.
My favorite Vietnamese place used to be Saigon House on Rt. 50 (Loehmann's Plaza) but it closed with the shopping center remodel and I don't know if they reopened elsewhere. However, there are other good places in that same block.
For Japanese we eat at Fortune House in Burke frequently because it's close and cheap, but I wouldn't call it terribly authentic (I think a Chinese family runs it).

Oh, and a great Korean grocery store is Lotte in Fairfax Circle (cheaper than H-Mart). They also have a food court.
