ah no because Miami may have some ghetto areas (what major city doesn't) but to say the entire city is ugly is stretching it.

New Port Richey is the ugliest city ever. It is nothing but old 50s style run down houses and very few people seem to mow their lawn. Even the people who live there are ugly (except my 2 friends). Very low property value compared with the rest of the Tampa Bay area.

Pensacola definitely gets my pick. A rundown right wing ultra conservative city still living in the 60's.

I'm with MiamiRob. Some areas of Miami are absolutely beautiful, such as Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, and South Beach. Granted you have to be rich to live in some areas, that doesn't mean they aren't there! haha

I suggest since you seem to have such vast knowlege of city planning and what a beautiful town should look like you should come back to Ocala, which by the way is known for its beautiful horse farms and replan and build a new city. Maybe one like from up north where your snotty and pompous attitude seems to come from. Besides lets not mince words beauty is only skin deep as the saying goes.

Downtown Ocala looks pretty nice, actually!
Poor attempt at an *ad hominem* argument. My family settled here in 1906.

You seem to think that only Yankee snobs could take offence looking at block after block of tasteless billboards. The first thing YOU can do in YOUR town Ocala is to get a sign ordinance passed.

Thumbs up Ocala is beautiful

I guess beauty really is "In the eye of the beholder." I've lived here since 1960, it sure has changed! Like any city there are gorgeous areas and not so gorgeous ones as well. We won a "City Beautiful" award back in '95, just got named #1 Best Performing City (for what it's worth) we are always in the running and place highly in many city beautiful contests. The Historic area just outside of downtown is full of beautiful homes and yards, and lots of magnificent 100+ years old oak trees. We are going through growing pains, new development seems to try to make us look like O'do or Miami. I miss the quiet laidback lifestyle of my youth, but it is still a very pretty place!

The only ugly thing I saw in Fla. was all of those "We Bare All" billboards down I-75. How ugly!
