A political entity (state) can delcare itself a Sovereign State, but unless it is recognized as such by another nation (Federal Government) it is a moot point.

Be interesting to see how many other states follow suit. And to see how long it will take for a states' rights candidate to seriously challenge the deimocrats and republicans.

I'm sure more of the legality of sovereignty and seceding will be examined in the years to come because the federal government is out of control. It used to be a government that acted to protect and provide for the citizens, but now it just acts like a global business commerce lobby.

You hit the nail on the head with that one. It may be symbolic right now, but I'm finding that the states are becoming more and more at odds with the federal government. Out of control spending, refusal to enforce immigration laws (of which I think big business is the chief culprit - while the government turns a blind eye), wars that aren't fought with a grain of common sense (ie. our Soldiers are NOT policemen); the list goes on and on.

I wonder if any other states have made this kind of declaration?

The website that you pulled that .pdf file from has nothing whatsoever to do with the State of Oklahoma Govt. It is a privately owned website with members who write most of the articles it contains.

It is a political website, NOT a Govt. website. They call themselves the "Oklahomans for Sovereignty and Free Enterprise, Inc"

Here is their homepage: http://www.ok-safe.com/Website/Defau...id=5&pageid=15

Quote:
OK-SAFE sees a concerted, dedicated and well funded effort by Social and Economic Elites to transition the United States from a Representative Republic to a Socialist Group Democracy and finally into a World Governmental Structure.

We find evidence to conclude the following Institutional transitions are well underway:

Political – Servant to Master
Monetary – Asset Credit to Outcome Credit
Intellectual – Education to Indoctrination
Ecclesiastical – God to Religion

OK-SAFE seeks to advance and defend the American principles of sovereignty and free enterprise through Public education, Issue advocacy and Governmental lobbying and is actively addressing the following areas:

Illegal Immigration,
Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPPNA),
North American Competitiveness Council (NACC),
National/Global ID Systems,
Public Private Partnerships (PPP or 3P’s),
North America SuperCorridor Coalition (NASCO),
Trade Agreements (NAFTA, CAFTA, FTAA etc),
North American Community/Union (NAU) and
United Nations Agenda 21
Another page they call "Ecclesiastical Apostasy" http://www.ok-safe.com/Website/Defau...id=5&pageid=35

Like most political groups they frequently submit papers to State and Federal Govts. in an attempt to further their agenda... that .pdf file is just one example... you will find MANY others on their website.

Aw, shucks. I was sort of looking forward to the potential 'People's Republic of' various states.

Spoilsport. One should never let reality get in the way of a good fantasy!

I can see the states coming together in order to enforce laws that seem to be void to the Fed's.

Arizona and Georgia are right behind us.

Texas needs to follow suit. With need to put aside our differences/Red River rivalry and come together to destroy the NAU and the NAFTA super highway. A good lynching of the DC bureaucrats would be nice too. Oh, and abolsh the federal reserve.
