The weather. If SF got boiling hot and humid in the summer and icy cold and snowy in the winter, it would be as nice as NYC.

Not really, you let MILLIONS of Illegal aliens flood into the USA and in time they AND their Anchor Baby spawn gain power through higher fertility rates, which is their long term goal.

Ideologies are bad excuses for lazy intellects.
Tulemutt, I so agree with everything you said and the way that you said it. Stupidity and Archie Bunker backwardness in the inability to understand what the source of problems are is driving the discussion of why OC became blue. Bringing back a discussion by Rustin in Tustin, SF is the wealthiest city in the United States, and the average home there is above 1 million dollars. Because of the success of the wealthy there, the poor, who have been with us from before the time of Jesus are relegated to homelessness, and the way to deal with homelessness today is to ignore it and the problems associated with it.

The bastions of liberalism as he puts it, Chicago, NYC, LA blah blah blah are doing just fine, and are the engine that this country counts on for greatness. The Republican strongholds of Kentucky, West Virginia, Mississippi and Alabama are not the engine, but the reason Trump is in the White House, where ignorance rules and keeps this wannabee tyrant in power. OC showed its intellect and ability to change with this election, and having grown up there, I am proud.

Here's what I don't get....

When Clinton lost Congress in 94 and Obama lost the House in 2010 and Senate in 2014, it was to STOP them. Clinton did a retroactive tax hike in 1993, in case you forgot. He pulled the HillaryCare stunt and the first thing he did in January 93 was gays in the military. The public had enough. Obama behaved in a patently unconstitutional behavior, such as how he pushed through Obamacare and DACA, among other things.

So what are you trying to stop Trump from doing?? Stop hammering ISIS? Stop making Kim behave? Stop making NATO pay up? Stop cutting regulations? A Democrat house won't make him stop tweeting or being obnoxious, so exactly what policies or legislation are you trying to stop? Because you will get nothing. Anything the House passes will die in the Senate. You will have nothing to show for it.

And second, do you not care about some of the dirtbags you are voting for? Cisneros and Rouda are dirtbags. Did you learn nothing from Josh Newman? Or is all that matters is the D after their name?

Lying, cheating, stealing, trashing the constitution - not the least of which is free speech, more lying, and still more lying, dirt talking about women, destroying the economy with tariffs, destroying the budget with unneeded tax cuts, yet more lying ... need I go on?

Now, we may not put a stop to all of that, but with dems controlling one house of congress at least a little bit of sanity can be injected into the whole thing.

The first 3 things he didn't accomplish anyway or it wasn't up to him. And when it comes to the last one "cutting regulations", that's probably what democrats would like him to stop doing if they had to pick from what you listed here. As in "EPA" regulations.

On top of that OC residents are probably not too fond of SALT deduction limit and just overall that the president is pretty much illiterate and most likely has an iq of around 80 just doesn't sit well with people. Not to mention him saying that Saudi Arabia is our great ally and Canada a threat. I mean this stuff is just comical to be honest.

So the rich create the poor? You sound like the typical loser liberal, I have so little because you have so much?

If SF is the wealthiest city in the United States, and the democrats are so caring and so benevolent, why haven't they fixed the homeless situation?
