I have only been to Seaside and really liked it. Is there a similar city on the Oregon Coast worth the visit. What is the nicest place on the coast to visit?

Exactly like Seaside? No.

But other heavy tourist cities are Astoria, Cannon Beach, Lincoln City, Depoe Bay, Newport, Florence, and Bandon. Some are more spread out then Seaside. All have less game centers. Some have more shopping. Astoria and Newport have more museums.

Astoria, Florence and Bandon are my favorites.

Brookings and Astoria, for different reasons.

Brookings - I like to camp at Harris Beach Park. There are some nice redwood hikes inland as well.

Astoria - my favorite when the kids were little for the Maritime Museum, Fort Stevens and a great chowder house on one of the piers.

I'm not a fan of Seaside or Lincoln City, mostly because the times I've been there are during tourist season, and that's too many people in too small a place for me. I'm not much of a fan of casinos or outlet malls, either.

I like Manzanita, and Florence. I like Bandon too, but we were down there this summer and it has been hit a bit hard with the recession. Like all cities, there were some vacant storefronts by the pier. Bandon has incredible coastline. Florence and Bandon have easy access to the dunes which is a blast.

Newport and Yachats get my vote. I don't care for Seaside and Lincoln City is my least favorite.
