That is just great!!! Around here most 16 year olds try for their driver's license. Then, bless their hearts, some go out and have terrible accidents. They are just too young to judge their speed and abilities to use good judgment. Not all, just some. I like your family tradition very much.
When I was 16 my dad asked me and my brother if we wanted to learn how to drive. I said no my bro said yes. I got along fine had my boyfriends to drive me and we had great bus service. Got married at 19 and had hubby drive or had my two legs to walk or my bike. I did fine even after our daughter came I always managed with out a car. Then when I was in my 30's we moved to CA and I then needed to drive. Took my drivers test three times. The last time he had me drive for a half hr just to be sure. I still do not like to drive. I am not afraid of me but the other guy.
I guess the good news is I did learn how to drive at a much later age then a 16 year old.
My good news day is that I was able to rest and do whatever I wanted in this beautiful dry 72 degree weather. Even took a nap on the couch with the dog. I was tired today.
Nice little bit of rain last night! I'm leaving for a few days to see how life is down south (OH). Solar panel is functioning, if the sun comes out...it is forecast to be cloudy until next week!
My good news today is that the 1,000-person convention that I work on every year (a four day non-profit event put on completely by volunteers) looks like it's coming together for a particularly successful run this year. We had our next-to-last planning meeting today, and all department heads and areas are in good shape with no problems on the horizon, which is nearly miraculous for the point less than two weeks before the convention starts. Still lots of work for many of us to get done, of course, but it's all coming together just beautifully, and I think it'll be a spectacular convention this year.
