Yesterday wasn't so bad.
My co-workers pitched in and got me a few gifts for my birthday. I was not expecting a gift at all.

I LOVE Hello Kitty so they got me a little Hello Kitty bag, a Hello Kitty notebook and some Hello Kitty pens.
I received a $10 gift card to Chick-Fil-A and a $5.00 gift certificate to my favorite bakery.

I'd say my co-workers know me pretty well.
I couldn't stop smiling for at least 15 minutes.

I went to sleep early last night because Friday was a pretty busy day. My family and I went to the Memphis Zoo and that kind of wore me out (all the walking and the heat).

I didn't get much sleep Friday night so last night I was sleep before 10. (A rarity for me.)

Last night I couldn't sleep, tossed and turned, was emotionally & physically exhausted. Weeping endures but for a night, but joy cometh in the morning...
Today was better after a couple of naps and a walk.

My evening was going smoothly until the earth decided to Rock N Roll. Fortunately, I wasn't close to the epicenter and no damage here in La La Land.

I hope u don't have another night of tossing and turning, but there is a blessing for the eye's that weep. It is the light of smiles we seek and the rest from fears and the promise of happier years.

My day wasn't so bad.

I took my dogs walking TWICE.

I made a stop to pick up my books from the library.

After a long day at work with people's kids whining and crying, it's nice to come home to a peaceful house WITHOUT whiny kids. It makes me so happy I am never having kids.

Started out crazy for me:
  • Just before I left the house I heard the low battery warning signal on my cell phone and realized that I forgot to turn it off. The battery indicator was also blinking (which means the battery is almost out). Hopefully it doesn't go completely out before I get home.
  • Accident on the high-level West Seattle bridge, which blocked off the right 2 lanes. Fortunately the traffic wasn't too bad.
  • Water coming out of a manhole cover (I assuming it was), creating a big-ass puddle with grayish water. I got off the bus early to get pictures.

Just returned from a 3 day 1250 mile road trip through desolate north central Nevada with my ferret.

My age is finally showing, I max out now with only 3-4 hours of driving, but bless Nevada for its 70MPH speed limits on rural roads, and with no cops in sight, 90-100 on those straight open stretches of nothingness but mountain ranges and sagebrush. But, peculiarly beautiful, as well.

Lamoille Canyon out of Elko was awesome. It had just rained, there were waterfalls gushing out of the canyon walls everywhere, and a wild rushing stream at the bottom of the canyon. It was the highlight of the trip, and brought back a trunk full of assorted rocks of all colors.

Took long walks at night with my leash-trained ferret around these small towns I stayed in, but rather puzzled as to why I get so much attention
walking a ferret, everyone so curious, wanting to pick it up and hold it.
Particularly, the younger ones, they all seem to exclaim: I want one of these so badly!

But so nice to be back. Could never, ever live in rural Nevada!
