There was a time when I did data entry at the Holstein Association (The Cow Palace as a friend once described it). I really hated it. Not so much about dealing with cows but the actually work. It was the most boring job you could imagine. My first week there, I said to myself that I couldn't imagine myself doing that job for 10 years. I was surprised that I actually lasted a year. Maybe I was just a glutton for punishment. And not to sound petty or anything but I SWEAR to you that my supervisor walked like a cow. She kind of swished her butt as she walked. It was actually kind of funny.

In college, I had an entomology professor who looked like a bug. He had big square bifocals that really magnified his eyes and he was bald. He was the nicest man in the world.

He also had spit around the corners of his mouth that had turned white from being there for so long.

I used to jokingly say it had calcified there after each semester.

Bad college student!

No joke: My step-father's sister-in-law looked like E.T. (just not as gray). She was such a sweetheart and I loved her dearly but she looked like E.T.

Reminds me of those pet/owner pics where they resemble each other.

I would have to go out and find a really fat toad to find a match for my face.

Mine comes from the Norse mythology. The Norns (Nornen in German) are wise women who weave the threads of human destinies, deciding over the fates of gods and men and who know all that was, is and shall be. I have chosen this name because I also, in a way, search for knowledge of what was, is and shall be, for wisdom and understanding.

Yesterday I caught, killed, cleaned, cooked, ate and appreciated a northern pike.

Tonight, I'm going to have a Cornish hen which I did not catch, kill or clean.

But I'll appreciate it. I'll appreciate it a LOT if it turns out tasty. Don't think I've cooked one before.

I've had Cornish hen twice in my life. First time was at a restaurant and it was delish. Second time, many years later, my husband cooked it and it was also delish. However, afterwards I started feeling almost drugged and developed a raging headache. I looked at the label and there were a bunch of chemicals added -- can't remember what they were anymore. I'm assuming they were the culprit. No more Cornish hen for me. Hope yours is organic!

How are you going to cook it?
