Ok I'm not a parent but I don't think teens should be having sex at all. As much as I would hope they would be abstinent I would just talk to her about safe sex/BC and pray that she's responsible. Her bf might not be allowed to come over but if they really want to have sex they'd find a place to do it.
Ny state has very odd laws regarding stat rape....depending on the age you have to be between 4 to 5 years older to really be charged with anything......so if he was 18 and she was 14 nothing could happen as long as it was a 4 year or less gap.
Yea thats what i call a stretch.....you would think its 2 years....but each state is different. Its also differs between gays and straights ....Gay ppl in many state can't consent till there 18 , while straights get away with it starting at 14 or 15. So for ive always stuck to the in my current age rule , however in the gay teen world that is not really followed.......while i'll always stick with my rules , alot people won't. I know a few Gay Teens who are 16/17 and secretly date upper 20s....while i find that inappropriate they don't.......which i find very disturbing......there seems to be a Boundary Issue and a right / wrong problem in this Country. As for my Straight friends , the ones that have the strictest , and most religious parents....are the biggest sex freaks....the can't help them selfs....and if the parents try to intervene it makes it worse...sometimes drinking is involved or worse in the format of drugs......but in my opinion telling them to have Sex is not a good idea. I also have a few friends that had parents encourage them to have sex , that is wrong in my opinion....that makes turn into prevs....or worse...... So the bottom line here is don't encourage or restrict your teens in the sex dept , teach them boundaries in the age dept.
