What would you do? Are you going to get a babysitter every time you want to go to the grocery store? Which child do you decide to take with you and which ones do you leave at home? Do you never go out to eat unless you bring a nanny or a sitter with you? Are you going to get a nanny? Do you have lots and lots of money? Or are you planning on never leaving the house until the children are older?

Before I was a parent, I was a DAMN GOOD ONE!!!!!

I also said I'd never:

Go to McDonalds
But fruit roll ups
Let them eat off the floor
Bottle feed
Eat processed foods
Eat candy before they were 5

Talk to us, honey, after you've had a few....I've got 4 and still have a S**t ton to learn.
Love that line in bold! I was, too!

As my daughters got older, I said some other things that turned out to be total nonsense:

I'd never:
Buy them a car
Let them drink, even a little, before 21 (Referring to at home here. I was never dumb enough to think I could control what they did away from home.)
Let one of them room with a guy (platonically)

What are you going to do when your baby comes and you need something from the supermarket, or you just need to get out of the house? Wait until your boyfriend comes home? Talk about isolating. At some point you have to learn to manage mulitple children because you will have multiple children.

I don't really see the harm in the harnesses at all...but that's me. I have 4 kids. I totally get them. I have a 3 year old boy. I get tired of saying his name all the time...

We see kids on "leashes" all the time and my kids have never said anything about them...and if they did "make fun" like you originally said your co worker's 3 year old did, then I'd have to assume they got that judgemental, making fun of behavior from someone!

I wear my baby in a sling...she loves it.

BUT I would also totally wear my lhasa apso in a sling because I just love her and I'm a weirdo.

I'm old enough to be her mama!

Babies are NOT a fashion accessory!

So you take your kid to the zoo and you think you can keep your eye on them at ALL times or hold their hand at ALL times? I hope you don't have to look at the park map, or look in you purse for a band aid or sun block. There is only a SMALL chance that my little girl would wonder away while I would be doing something like that but that is not a chance I am willing to take. I guess you are the better parent to know that you have trained your child to sit and stay better than I have.
