My sister got knocked up by a mexican and now wants to call her newborn "Latina".

I think this is way wrong but can't convince her. What do you think I should do?

I don't care for it but when someone names a child....Moon Zappa, Apple or Pilot Inspector.....Latina doesn't seem so bad.

I hate to say this but it sounds kind of trashy. Sorry. I would try to convince her to change her name. There are tons of Latina names that are beautiful. Lourdes and Teresa and two that I think are very nice and show some ethnicity.

I'm confused--is your sister pregnant now or is the baby already born? You said "newborn," so I'm not sure. Is she thinking of Latina as a possible name, or is this a nickname for an already born baby?

The sound of the word is very pretty, but I don't like it as a name.

Latina is not a name NO . Latina is like saying I am caucasian. Would you call your child that? I wouldn't think so..

I wouldn't do it personally, but really it's none of your business what your sister names her child, so try not to let it bother you so.

"knocked up"

"by a mexican"

"call her newborn"

Sounds like you really don't respect or care for your sister or her little angel so why do you care what she names her????

I think it is a pretty name.

Many countries were named after PEOPLE so what is wrong with this?

Causcasian doesn't sound as pretty as Latina
