If I could write how I truly felt about Santorum, I'd be banned.

More politely put, he's a right-wing pandering, holier-than-thou ideologue.

Pennsylvanians threw him out of office for a reason.

Besides not liking the sleazy way he enrolled his kids in PA’s cyber school; I don’t like his positions on illegal immigration. I would expect no major policy changes if he was elected. His record on illegal immigration is only slightly better than Ron Paul’s - but not too much better than our current President. I don’t think our country can take more of the same old.

Well this country's going to get more of the same old same old because they let the ****ing mainstream soundbyte media guide them into their opinions.

I didn't like how he towed the party line but I did respect him for standing by his beliefs and values even if they may not have been popular. Of course we replaced him with an even bigger toady named Bob Casey jr. who's spineless and as far left as Santorum was far right. So we didn't improve by replacing him. But at least we did get rid of that creature Specter.
We can't get a break in Pa, but we're nowhere near as bad off as New Jersey at least. Our last great senator was John Heinz who would have been President had he not died.
The far right loves Santorum and Bachmann and nothing can convince them they can't win it seems.
As for me, I'll take Ron Paul but I have been hearing some positives about Huntsman. Even Romney can't be any worse that what we have now. But as a libertarian I'll be sitting out the primary as a spectator.

There is so much trash-talk going on, near constant TV ads, phone calls, etc. Debates only show how well the candidates are able to 'push back' when attacked, and I've heard all the sound bites, heard all the wonderful things he's accomplished in PA. Now I'd like some opinions from 'we the people', you who live in Pennsylvania. Thanks in advance

Overall what is your impression of Santorum? Do you think he did a good job for the people of Penn? Do you think he'll make a good president? I'm a firm believer that past performance is a good indication of future performance, so please jump in. Any insight is greatly appreciated.
Let's stick with opinions about Santorum so this discussion stays local. Off topic or nationally related posts will be deleted and infractions may be issued.

Another registered Republican here. I think Santorum's social positions are scary, and I would even say I am slightly embarrased that he is from PA. I question my Republican affiliation when I see people like him, and his wacko supporters, obsess about homosexuality with all of the real problems that this country is facing.

Santorum was against Social Security when he was a Senator. That was one of the reasons he was soundly defeated. I had relatives who walked away from his campaign and the Reublican Party because of him. He detailed all of his views while he was writing editorials for the Inquirer. I don't know how you can seperate his views from him

Haha, sort of fitting I'm actually quite likely to remember this date, since it's my birthday. Thanks for letting me know, and thanks again for all the info. I'm off to the Utah forum to ask about Huntsman (hoping to hear good things). As a longtime MA/NH resident, I'm already pretty well versed on Romney
