Harrisburg has a Range Rover Dealership, Banana Republic, Williams Sonoma, J. Crew, Dave & Busters, Wegmans, Costco, Coach, Ralph Lauren.

So it is not totally lacking in "Large Metro Amenities".

Plus it has an International Airport, large arena for major Class A concerts and shows, and it also has a large tourist draw with Hershey.

I think with Lancaster, it is more centralized so overall has a greater effect to seem more substantial.

While Harrisburg is split and more sparse with its upscale feel with its East v West shore suburbs.

I think the whole mentality of East verse West shore, hurts the Harrisburg metro greatly.

Because neither side wants to work with one another, and there is no regional cohesion.

Whereas Lancaster thinks with a one region mindset which allows for better planned growth and smarter development.

This is definitely true. The Harrisburg metro is bifurcated. If it was more centralized like Lancaster it would probably be better off.

In other news, some major housing developments planned for Harrisburg city, these are gamechangers! Hundreds of new residential units as well as a grocery store.
