It is great that Republicans listened to the pundits and pollsters and nominated a middle of the road Republican whose claim to fame was that he got along more with the Democrats than his own party. At least we put that baby to bed.

Can someone please tell the McCain rednecks on television to stop boo-hissing, booing, and jeering whenever Sen. McCain humbly mentions Sen. Obama's name? What a bunch of sore loser cry-babies!

If McCain would have won and I was at the concession speech for Obama, I would have not boo'd McCain's victory. Just don't think it's the correct thing to do. Sadly, there would have been some booing at an Obama concession speech if things were opposite......but not nearly as much I'd think. You always have people on both sides who take the classless route. I'm not surprised that many at McCain's speech took the low road though. I saw somebody on another message board try to compare this to your sporting team losing and you would boo the winner.......not ever close to being the same thing. McCain gave a tremendous speech and respect him a ton for it. I never thought he was a bad man.....I just didn't agree with many of his philosophies and ways of wanting to run certain things. I'm very Happy right now for Obama and ecstatic for the change we need right now in America. Hopefully this all makes sense as I'm battling a very nasty cold!

Same here, his speech reminded me of the old McCain which I always respected and liked. I hope he goes back to the way he used to be. I didn't like the new McCain at all.

I was a supporter of McCain until a few months into his Presidential run and always had tons of respect for him. However, something changed and I just started to like him less and found myself not respecting him like I once did (I was thinking of voting for him early on). Some of that came when I started to research his past voting patterns more and was opposed to some of the ways he woud want things if he became President. To be honest McCain just seemed to change starting sometime in 2006 and this election really showed the changes. Declaring Palin as his running partner was the last straw. There would have been a good chance I may have even voted for him back in 2000 or 2004 if he was running. I agree with you that his speech tonight reminded me of the past McCain I enjoyed and respect.

I don't want to argue the election now but what you are saying is that you really liked McCain as long he was more like a Democrat. Problem is Democratic party already had a candidate and you wisely voted for the real thing.
