Last year we had 79 degrees on October 5th...followed by a week of under 90 degree weather. It did hit mid 90s again for a couple days but was back to low 80s/high 70s by mid month and even dipped into the high 60s a couple days.

Under 90 degrees may still be summer weather in other parts of the country, but that have to mean it's "hot". 85 as a high in Phoenix is gorgeous because the humidity is usually in the low teens.

It's about that time of year where the heat is really starting to wear me down.
We have until about the first week of October and then we should be in the clear for the next 8 months.

Looking at last year's calendar, the first week of October brought temps int he low 80s and while we did end up having a couple days in the mid 90s the following week, the rest of the month was 70s and 80s.

It didn't hit mid 90s again until May and we didn't see 100+ until June 15th.
That haboob the other night must have been a special treat. It was 72 and cloudy here in Sierra Vista yesterday morning so I mowed my lawn. The areas burned off by the Monument Fire are really green now.

What's "near 100"? Above 95?

In 2010, there were 4 days above 95 degrees the whole month...I wouldn't say that's a good amount. Two of the days were Oct 1 and Oct 2.

2009 had 3 days above 95...actually only 3 days above 90. The rest of the month ranged from 59 - 89...and lows got as low as 39 degrees on Oct 30th.

What location are you using? For Phoenix Deer Valley, using Wunderground it shows the numbers I put up earlier. Guess it depends on your location.

Next week it is going to get ridiculously hot. That goes for both Phoenix and Vegas.
