So we're making plans late... want to come for some baseball around Mar. 23-28 -- almost any part of town would be okay. Some of the old haunts are getting too expensive (eg. Courtyard Marriott in the Town & Country mall area) -- we prefer a "suites" type place where you can have a kitchenette so you can do some meals on your own. A balcony is also important for just sitting outside and enjoying the morning or sunset....
Lots of places are booked already ... any suggestions for where you have placed visiting friends or family?

Many thanks!

You might try the Legacy Suites. They have a couple of units out here in the West Valley (near Glendale baseball fields) - don't know about east valley.

Thanks - will check it out!

Any other recommendations? We could go from Surprise to Cave Creek to Tempe or all points around... I realize that we are dealing with the end of baseball/snowbird season and that's also driving up prices...

Thanks again.

You can bet prices will be high during spring training!

I drove by a place yesterday at the US60 and Dobson in Mesa (SE corner) Homestead Suites, I think??? (I should have written it down!) Good location for getting around to the various ballparks.

Value Place off of the 101 in Peoria could work ........ no balcony and it's definitely a budget hotel ..... however, the grounds aren't bad and it has good access to camelback ranch, maryvale, peoria and even goodyear & surprise

for that week the larger rooms are running $350/wk ......... dishes are an extra $40 and internet $2$10 .......... you really don't get much here though ...... completely bare bones, so if you buy your own toiletries and I think it costs extra to take your linens to the front desk for a daily exchange then you are probably looking closer to $450/wk in reality

A room with a refrigerator & microwave up at the La Quinta in Peoria is running $175/nt though

Not sure where your budget is, but there are also home rentals in the area that may work (although it's also peak season for that)

Not sure what exactly you are looking for, but there is a b&b with reasonable rates near Central/Camelback. Super tucked away and intimate.
