OK, found an old water bill. Compared it towards the new water bill. Everything looks the same except our water usage. It seems I may have a water leak somewhere. Hmm...

OK so I found the rates online for Epcor, looks to be...

$21.89 for service charge (charged this even if you use zero water)
0-1000 gallons: 72¢
1000 - 3000 gallons: $1.07 per 1k gallons
3000 - 9000 gallons: $1.36 per 1k gallons
9,000 - 12,000 gallons: $1.65 per 1k gallons
12,000+ gallons: $2.01 per 1k gallons

This is for north Peoria, part of Epcor's "Sun City Water District". How does that compare to other areas?

Ah, the drip system. I dug up a rather large section and found that it was leaking in several places. Oh well, I know what I am doing tomorrow for my day off. Lol. Oh well, I enjoy these little projects. I was actually astounded to find my dang drip system used up an extra nearly 6000!! gallons! In. One. Month.

Do you have the poly-tubing? How old is it?

Apparently those go bad and the whole tubing system has to be replaced every 5-8 years.

I am not sure how old it is or what type of tubing. All I know is that when I moved in, none of the drip system worked. At all. I just plugged it in and prayed. Lol. It works, but also leaks like a sieve. Just hemorrhages water. I imagine the system is as old as the house. Which was built in 2001.

Yeah, sounds like it needs to be dug up and replaced unfortunately.

You can get them to send you a copy. Or, perhaps they can pull an old one up online and walk you through both bills.

In S-dale, we pay $50-$55 month for water, trash, sewer, etc. Though the water taste like poo-poo, the contracted garbage and recycle service in Scottsdale ROCKS!

So here's how Epcor screws us in Anthem:

Basic service: 27.08
0-2000 1.6246 per 1k
2000-5000 3.2491 per 1k
5000-9000 5.4152 per 1k
9000-21000 7.5813 per 1k
21000+ 9.2438 per 1k

Those figures per 1000 are in dollars. These are the actual charges from my bill. The tariff chart posted on their website is out of date.

Nice, huh?

It looks like someone who uses a lot of water would pay alot, but not terribly out-of-line if you don't have a pool or a large lawn. Phoenix bills by "units" which I believe are about 750 gallons, and we use about 2-4 units per month at my place - our bill at your rates would be ~$35, which jives with our Phoenix bills at about $50-$60 including trash & sewer..
