I used to live near 43rd Ave and Peoria and drove down to all of my suppliers that tended to be near where you work every morning to pick up stuff for my business. Going north/south on 43rd Avenue was never that bad and a 20 minute commute north puts you into a decent middle income working class area with a smattering of newer apartment complexes. Most of my neighbors tended to be teachers, small business owners like myself, cops, civil servants or retail managers over at some of the malls in the area.

Does the new poster mean 43rd Avenue or around 43rd STREET? Big difference.

I'm sure they meant Avenue, because 43rd Ave is a major cross street where as 43rd Street is not.

Plus he/she asked if that area is full of Grand Canyon University students, which only makes sense when referring to the West Side.

I worked in that area and enjoyed an easy commute from 23rd and Northern, just across 17. Killer tacos at Vaquero Meat Market, about 250 m North of bathany 43rd intersection, on 43rd...good place to get a haircut behind there. Excellent Frys at the SW corner of the intersection. The Phoenix areas are better than the Glendale parts, fwiw, even though it is hard to tell the difference...
