This will be my 2nd year here in Phoenix this April and still unsure if I want to buy a house here due to the weather.

I understand we are having a La Nina winter which is dryer and warmer than normal but I just checked the forecast and it's hovering close to 90 next week.

Are we done with the mild weather (70's) for this winter? Is this fairly typical to be this hot in the winter here?

I like everything else about Phoenix and understand it gets hot but figured I would see maybe 6 months of at least mild weather and I mean under 80. Seems it didn't cool off below 90 until late in the year and seems to only have lasted for maybe 2 months.

Yes, it's a wrap. UNFORTUNATELY If you want to even call it a winter this year.

I wondered that when I was seeing 80's all this week for Phoenix and many of its suburbs. I'm not sure if I would even call this past winter a "winter". It's been warmer also in some cooler areas of the state. Kind of a shame, I would've enjoyed some more cold. I understood this winter for us was a warmer one, but it was quite warmer than I expected.

Noooooo, I'm not ready for A/C at night yet! I'm enjoying being able to sleep with the windows open and cool air coming in

Past is not necessarily prologue with temps around here. It could change and end up being wet and cool right through March. It could be mid-June before the first 100 degree day. I wouldn't bet the farm on that. The current extended forecast is for the persistent high pressure to continue for at least two more weeks. As the days get longer, the temps will rise, so 90s in Feb is a real possibility.

In several recent years, February and March have seemed warmer than normal, while April and May have seemed cooler than normal. I can accept that trade in terms of temperature, but it won't be a good year for wildflowers due to the lack of winter rain.

Love weather threads.

Someone is asking about "winter" in this one.

I had no idea Arizona had "winter".

What's "winter"?

Yep, stick a fork in this "winter", its over. This is ridiculous. It seems like everyone else is enjoying cool, seasonable temps but us. If I have to put my a/c on in the car in early February, Ill be royally pissed.

The current weather is in no way indicative of what’s to come. Meanwhile, the low 80s are perfect in my book, so this warm up is great for me.
