True. That link Moderator cut: link removed, competitor site also labeled PV and other "towns" as a city. While we are showing out-of-state data with inaccurate statements, this site called "City-data" gives the specs on a Master Planned Community and calls it Anthem. https://www.city-data.com/city/Anthem-Arizona.html You won't see a C-D link for Arcadia which is inside of PHX, but you do Anthem.

While we are counting strikes, read Moderator cut: link removed, competitor site "Anthem is a suburb of Phoenix with a population of 22,750." It's not. But that is how people outside of people involved in developments view it.

My point was, anyone who reads the title that "Gilbert has the highest median income in Arizona" and concludes people who live there have more money than PV or Scottsdale is categorically wrong. Yes, more money is coming to Gilbert as well as the entire PHX metro. Here is some more clickbait from the same author, https://www.azfamily.com/2023/04/19/...aire-hotspots/ This time, the clickbait title reads "Scottsdale ranks #5 in list of fastest growing millionaire hotspots." When the author added "fastest-growing" inside of the title, we can conclude he is reaching for something to write.

Keeping it real and forgetting median household income, it should be obvious there is more money in Gilbert than in Anthem.

Apparently someone hasn't been to Queen Creek in a while.

For the life of me I can't understand why anyone with money would want to live in Queen Creek or anywhere south of Phoenix, for that matter. Reason? Haboobs. Dust storms. I was so glad to be living in the 85254 while there. Haboobs had lost their punch by the time of reaching that location.

Why would anyone want to live where dust storms pack their worst punch??

Agreed. QC is growing up FAST! These "losers" couldn't afford to shop at Walmart https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2...84858164_zpid/ or

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1...00105711_zpid/

There are a lot of > $1M homes in QC.

You can't convince anybody from Maricopa Co. of how nice Tucson is.

I'd be curious where the ASU fan with the football playing son went for the game. Probably some TUSD school.

Yeah, we know Tucson is rough in a lot of the city proper. But the perimeter of town (the county) is pretty upscale. One difference is that in Tucson there were no satellite farming towns with the old downtowns to provide some identity. Tucson just sat there by itself as it sprawled. So the identity of it's more upscale places are more nebulous than those old farm towns around Phoenix.

Moderator cut: link removed, competitor site

This link was posted in #48. If you will notice, seven of the top twenty five per capita income "cities" are in Pima County. Considering that Pima is only 24% the size of Maricopa county, they probably should have 28% of the top twenty five communities by income if Tucson is so "poor".

I'll bite, so if you were a doctor, dentist, or a business owner with a thicker wallet working in QC, are you going to live in zip code 85254 and commute to QC? I sure the Hell wouldn't commute.

Who the hell works in QC other than mostly service employees?!

I pity the doctors and other professionals whose companies throw up a shingle in QC and the like and then move them there or "you're out".

"The Pecans" neighborhood in QC is one of the most upscale subdivisions in AZ. Lots of impressive newer mansions of 8,000 SF+ with the kind of amenities you'd find in Paradise Valley. There's pro athletes, business owners, dentists and physicians in there. I think a poster here lives there too.

QC is kinda known for their bigger lots and much of the housing is upscale. I think sometimes people confuse QC with San Tan Valley because they used to all be called Queen Creek. STV is more starter home and not really comparable to QC. I don't care for the location, but the housing stock is not what people think.

I don't question the housing stock, I simply question why someone would live in that general area, whether it's QC or STV.

To each his own.

You don't understand that topic. No one tells a doctor to a dentist where to work. On average, you get paid much more to live in a more rural area where it's not supported as much. Our DD gets paid $450K in the Spokane area (she is hoping for $550K next year). She would get paid $200K less on average in the Seattle area. Bonus: the cost of living is a lot less too. So she is banking $ like mad. Cut, and paste repeat for medical specialists in rural areas. Read all about it here: https://www.healthcarefinancenews.co...as-report-says

Forgetting that for a moment, the average QC home price is $600K https://www.redfin.com/city/30786/AZ...housing-market . OBVIOUSLY, people are making a lot more than "service employees" in order to afford a $600K property.

I'm not moving to QC as it's not my personal cup of tea. I have friends who would NEVER, ever move to AZ (they love FL). The chance of me talking them into it are at 0%. As they say, there are trade-offs. So, YMMV.
