You'll have to investigate it for yourself though to be sure.
Well Rancho Gabriela is dangerous which is in Surprise other areas are dangerous too.

LOL...Rancho Gabriela is not dangerous. There has been ZERO murders in Surprise this year...compare that to the FIVE murders that have taken place in the other safest city in Arizona (Gilbert).

I am not in agreement with the poster's claim that Surprise is dangerous at all. We just bought a little fixer in Surprise and it is a very decent little neighborhood. Great shopping too, close to the hospital.

North Peoria! I live here now and I think it is a quiet, safe, comfortable place to raise a family. Two years here and never a problem.

I have lived in Glendale in the past and I found the crime to be a bit much. I had vandals break into my car (parked in my driveway) many times. One time I even had the side of my house spray painted with some gang symbols or something. They had to jump over my backyard fence to do it. The teenagers would walk home from school and toss rocks at windows of vacant homes.

Surprise area is far less familiar to me.

Those West valley cities get a bad rap but there are plenty of good sections to counter the bad, just like there are good and bad areas of the East valley.

I personally prefer sections with some character - Downtown Glendale and Westgate areas - more than I do N. Glendale, Peoria or Surprise. I mean, Peoria and Surprise are fine for Suburban living but there's not much going on there except Strip malls and stucco developments!!!!!!!

I think north Peoria has far more going for it than just strip malls. We have some awesome shopping centers that do not fit the typical strip mall type. They are considered "power centers." The stucco developments that you mention are Vistancia, West Wing and Sonoran Mt Ranch as well as the age targeted develpment, Trilogy. These master planned communities have a variety of builders and architectural styles to choose from, not just the same old 3 floor plan communities that you seem to paint as a standard for n. Peoria. The OP needs to visit to make his or her own decisions as to what neighborhood or city fits their needs the most. We live in north Peoria/ Vistancia and love our home and community life.

From the Surprise PD's crime stats, there haven't been much of anything in Surprise this year. Of course there will be incidents as there are in La Jolla, Beverly Hills, Paradise Valley, the Hamptons, Martha's Vineyard, etc but that doesn't make these cities (including Surprise) "dangerous."
