YAHOOIE! North Shore getting Bar Louie!

I'm elated about this. The Station Square location across the rivers was not enough. They have such a unique concept where you can get cheese sticks, jalapeno poppers, wings, burgers. They'll even have Coors Light, Blue Moon, and Yuengling specials!

There's also a Bar Louie at the Waterfront. It's not even up to TGIF standards. But let's not mock Yuengling.

This kind of thing is my biggest argument against limiting liquor licenses by county population. What a waste of a liquor license.

Awhile back I was talking to State Senator Matt Smith on the PLCB. He noted that the licensing issue is so bad in the T part of the state, it hurts tourism. Outside of here and the Philly area, pretty much only chains can afford the available licenses or go to the PLCB for appeals for adding more.

in the philly suburbs that has already been happening and in philly licenses keep disappearing causing the price of a license to triple in ten years. a lot of licenses end up in the hands of landlords who lease them to operators which does nothing more than transfer wealth from those who operate businesses to those with lots of capital. if the various parts of the state could put aside their differences and realize that it's the special interests (in thise case license holders) and the unnecessary regulation they support that are hurting them not "the T" or "the city" we'd all be a lot better off.

That's a winning formula nowadays, lots of people go for your poppers and wings and that.

Coors Light, the famed Silver Bullet, is one of the country's most popular beverages.

It isn't shocking that the growing Bar Louie enterprise sees the North Shore as their latest frontier.

Funny to see 'wife beater ale' coming in at #5 & avoiding that label in the U.S.

Even though Yuengling is on that list, I'm trying Penn Pilsner tonight. It compares pretty well. They don't have the Duke here or I'd have that more often.

Those kind of places, which are about all the same are the only places that can afford a huge place on the so-called North Shore (is there a beach there or something?). It doesn't matter which one. It isn't like there is fresh food or anything special about any of the big chain places. Frozen everything and cold beer. Thaw, fry or micro and serve. Good enough for that crowd. Look at the fastest growing beer brands list. Sort of says it all for the most part. Wish people would drink Iron City and Penn if they want regular beers. At least support the more local folks.
