I never said 60%. I said between 50 and 60% in the summer. I hadn't yet looked up the exact numbers but knew it was somewhere in the 50s.

It is a factor (for some people) in choosing whether or not to move anywhere.

Bingo. It is factor, and that was said many pages ago

It’s always good to get the facts straight for those that don’t know them.

Yup; you're the only one who doesn't realize that we all know it's a factor.

You’ve been arguing against it since I said it was...and I would expect better knowledge of the numbers from someone who supposedly works with them for a living.

For as much as I love this city I become severely depressed from November through April or so because it's dreary almost every day. One of the few things that will make me leave Pittsburgh is the climate. Why suffer so much dreariness here when cities not far away have much sunnier weather without much more extremes on either end in terms of heat/humidity or cold/snow?
I know the numbers which is why I now only reside here 6 months of the year.

Sounds like you already know the answer to your question. Move to an area that suits you better. It’s certainly not like the Pittsburgh area is anything special that you can’t find somewhere else, and you can get milder weather.

^ We're the cloudiest major U.S. city I could find, and we're one of the cloudiest major cities in North America, yet we have people who claim we're "not that cloudy"? I love my Pittsburgh; however, don't try to "spin" us as NOT being a gray city. The amount of "spin" on this sub-forum is laughable at times.
OK, I said I'd never wade into a Pittsburgh weather discussion again, yet here I am!

When I was a kid, the Pittsburgh weather was my "normal". It didn't bother me then, and it doesn't bother me *too* much when I go back to visit. When I moved to Champaign IL (not on list, I'm using Peoria IL [89 mi to the west by NW]as a proxy) I thought it was a sunny place. In point of fact, it is about 25% sunnier than Pittsburgh. My husband, however, came to Champaign by way of college in LA (50% sunnier) after having grown up in Omaha NE (~33% sunnier). He thought Champaign was a cloudy place, and he thinks Pittsburgh is extremely dreary. One time we were there for the 4th of July and he said to me, "Does the sun ever shine here? Does it rain every day here?". I told him if the sun came out it would just get hot and sticky, which proceeded to happen about 15 minutes later. My sister-in-law, from near Harrisburg, (again ~25% sunnier) said the same. Just my experiences.

To many, there are a lot of unique, special things here. To you, it obviously isn't, and that's OK but you're stating your opinion as if it's a fact - kind of ironic for someone who just lectured us on the notion that everyone has different preferences.
