Unemployment is not welfare for the first 26 weeks

One extension is understandable.

Pass that yes IMO, it is glorified welfare.

One welfare you can only own so much.

Unemployment has no limits and it should not but, to draw two years is ridiculous. IMO.

It's welfare once you go past the time it is intended for. The "we paid for the insurance" line doesn't hold water after that, it's pure government givaway. I'm not saying it's a bad thing necessiarily, but anyone who think there is a difference between long term unemployment and welfare is deluded.

I don't see the problem. If people are so crazy about it, you are not forced to apply for it.

Worst economy since the depression, no job growth in a decade, middle class is all but gone, 2% of the population owns most of the wealth, and some you are pissed about people on unemployment. I'm sure most of you are fine with spending more on the military than the rest of the world combined does and endless drug/terror wars all being waged with billions of our dollars.

Unemployment is INSURANCE, you pay in when you are working and collect when you are not.

Unfortionatly, the only path out of this mess is to let things bottom out.

This goes for all the bails outs too.
