In short, let me see if I can put this in simple terms you can understand, Just making a list of Jews who work in the media/entertainment industry, does not prove that Jews own and run the media/entertainment industry.
well, jews are only 2% of the population, aren't they? Jews are the most productive people of all time, imo. they are very focused and goal oriented, but don't argue $$ with them. they will win the deal everytime.
Starting an ethnic or religious discussion usually winds up in an uproar and brings out some uglies.
As to comments on Jews owning the media----I dont know about owning but there is a fair share of Jewish journalists, editors, and broadcasters----as far as owning the airwaves?????
As to why Jewish people move into the upper stratas -----is it an accident---I dont think so.
I am Jewish and traditionally our families are driven to make sure their kids have a good life and succeed accordingly. This is not said to sound arrogant or condescending-----its just that Jewish fathers and mothers stay focused on their kids academic and professional achievments----sometimes to the point of driving the kids bonkers.
A lot of American families are success oriented----not just Jews-----yet the Jewish family tends to set goals and expectations for their kids and is prone to see this through. I am sorry to some of the posters who see the large number of Jewish people who are make their way up the ladder in various walks of life including the media as a negative.
America is indeed a great country and has allowed people from all races and religions to succeed in academics and careers------freedom of choice---what a great concept. To a large extent Jewish families have chosen freedom of choice to guide and direct their kids to be better than they were---to excel and thrive.
Jews are no different than any other religious base in this country-----there are many success stories -----also there are sad stories and quite a few go astray.
I get the feeling from the tone of some posters here that there is some resentment here----why??? Jewish families have decided to have their kids take advantage of the great opportunities this country has provided to them-----I think Rick also down deep realizes this also.
There are exceptions:
It's always open season on muslims, arabs, commies, gays, atheists, liberals (same as commies), and not too seldom Europe, especially France.
These "exceptions" are quite often applied by the right: Fox, various talk shows.

Heterosexuals, caucasians, men.
Apparently, if you are a straight white man, you're fair game for anyone and everyone else to attack, with no fear of retribution at all. Say something negative about almost any other group, and you need to be prepared to defend the statements of face accusations of hatred, bigotry and insnesitivity. Say something negative about a straight white guy, or about all straight white guys, and no one's allowed to complain.

Couldn't have happened to a dumber guy. Not for what he said, but for his intelligence level in general. It's quite obvious that Sanchez has coasted by on his looks, because if you listen to him talk, he actually comes off as being quite stupid. An actual exchange from his show, a few months back:
