I think this was directed at another. I have no problem with how, when or how much oprah gives. I think she is a great

To answer the question no one seems to want to answer. Of course it is wrong (if you really are a progressive) to spend money frivolously. Even if it is corporate money. When there is so much suffering in the world. To answer any other way is hypocritical.

Of all the things to concern yourself with, the generosity of others really shouldn't be one of them.

I stand by my position that Oprah's gift giving shows were in poor taste given the fact that so many families became homeless this year. I am now leaving for a Christmas party.

Kudos to her for deciding enough was enough and she made her show into a vehicle for good works ala her Angel Network etc.

If she wants to use her LAST season to promote some sponsors and give away some goodies to those who according to you are apparently "undeserving" of same, then good.

I think you're just PEEVED you didn't manage (or think about getting) a ticket to the LAST giveaway show LOL
Yikes you couldn't be more wrong. She started off (nationally) as a rival to Phil Donahue.

Well that would be true if it was generosity instead of sell promotion.

should you really be going to celebrate at a christmas party when there are so many homeless people about, who won't be going to parties this season? isn't that the basis of the principle you seem to be upset with?
