99% of everything that goes on in congress is for show.

I don't care that they are reading the constitution, or that they are doing pointless repeal crap that won't go anywhere. I expected it.

LOL, you may not like the results but it is a blatant lie to say that Obama has not delivered anything.

DADT repeal
Healthcare reform
2 Supreme Court appointments
START treaty
Unemployment benefit extension/tax cuts

Watching FOX and Repubs pointing out that they are the ones that know how to score bills, not the CBO. And, he never said bills would be done in the open? Wow, that was quick.

Love it watching the right already trying to make excuses for those that they just voted in, didn't take your boys long to admit they cannot do what they promised, So much for all the chest pounding about what was going to happen when your boys got their power back.
As for the left pointing out the fact that your boys stuck it to you and the right telling them that they need to be focusing on their own Party, I will remind you that the right has posted numerous threads and posts here telling the left that they got screwed because the President has not done everything he promised yet. Sorry but what is good for the goose is good for the gander and one should not use tactics they do not want used on themselves when the shoe is on the other foot.
The good thing about this betrayal by the "new" Congress is that just maybe some of you will finally stop being mindless sheep and stop voting straight Republican tickets and become Independent voters.

What if Boehner does blow a gasket and get carted off to the looney bin, does that mean the next highest vote getter in the House Speaker election takes his place? Gasp! Wouldn't that be a kick?

Republicans take over House, dilute cuts | Reuters

Republicans scaled back plans for deep cuts in government spending as they took power in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, diluting a key promise that helped them to victory in November's election.
No big surprise there. I wonder where they're keeping their magical jobs bag?

Did Pelosi hand it over with the gavel ?
Or is it still buried in the Oval Office ?

Ah, the usual retort, "Any idiot knows".

I'll make you a wager. If the House propose 100B in in cuts the next 12 months you stay off these boards for 12 months. If they don't I will stay off for 12 months. Put up or shut up as they say.

Default House Republicans already breaking campaign promises..

This is just the beginning. Is anyone really surprised?

Quote:
Just hours after taking control of the House, Republicans passed a sweeping set of rules promising transparency and reform. But the new majority is already showing these promises aren’t exactly set in stone.

After calling for bills to go through a regular committee process, the bill that would repeal the health care law will not go through a single committee. Despite promising a more open amendment process for bills, amendments for the health care repeal will be all but shut down. After calling for a strict committee attendance list to be posted online, Republicans backpedaled and ditched that from the rules. They promised constitutional citations for every bill but have yet to add that language to early bills. (See:GOP backpedals on committee attendance rule - On Congress - POLITICO.com)]
