Look Mother Hubbard, If it were strictly up to Texans to decide, I'm sure we would have a Wednesday night Illegal Invader Roundup, the results of which would be used as dummies in Thursday night tackling practice, just to get the team loosened up for some Friday Night Football.
BTW: no one here cares what cali people think or for that matter even believe it is possible.
if it was up to us folk here in Texas, we would extend the castle law to the boarder and shoot everything that crosses over.

Like I said it is up to Texans to decide. Ya'll are just too stupid to understand your own Constitution.
Ferd - I think you are mistaken about the revenues from football at Allen HS.
Based on their audited 2009-2010 financial statements, extracurricular activites operated at a deficit of $1,793,387. They spent $4,190,706. That's for the entire school district.
The new stadium will probably increase revenues due to additional ticket and concession sales. Maybe an additional playoff game or two per year. But they have to make up $1.8M just to break even.
They will not be hiring teachers nor building science centers with football ticket sales.
And by the way - they would use bond money to build science centers, not maintenance and operations funds.
So "Football makes Men!" or something like that? Football makes followers and little else. It teaches kids that 10 of them on the team are supposed to sacrifice themselves for the quarterback and he collects all the glory and girls. It did not take me long to realize the guy on the line took the pain and got none of the glory.
Let's face it most of the folks in TEXAS, or anywhere else are no different than the Roman mob 2,000 years ago. They like violent entertainment and will pay millions to build places for their entertainers to play.
Math classes, physics labs and computer stations are simply not exciting enough to bother funding. Who cares that the nerds not the football players will make the future? The mob needs to be entertained. The future be damned.
You need some positive friends to help with your outlook.
And last time I checked, the schools in Texas are funding math classes and computer stations just fine.
And I'll bet those same voters who voted to waste taxpayer money on an NFL-quality high school football stadium would vote to cut funding for early childhood education, new textbooks, school lunches, services for the poor, etc.
Such a huge leap from a few facts to your fantasies. You should be writing fiction.
And they didn't "waste taxpayer money" on the stadium. They spent their own tax payer money on something that will add value and pleasure to the lives of thousands of residents for many years to come.
Things aren't always as they Seem! Do you know what percentage of boys that play football in High School ever go on to play college and then the percentage of college players that actually get into the league? Have you ever listen to the average NBA guy try to actually speak?
What's your point?
