The ultimate big brother tax, limiting individual's free travel within the USA via taxation. Yet another layer of government bureaucracy with a new agency created: Surface Transportation Revenue Alternatives Office. How are you going to like having a government required device in your vehicle tracking your travel/miles driven, to be taxed?

We were warned by the Beatles...

The Taxman

if you drive a car - I’ll tax the street;
if you try to sit - I’ll tax your seat;
if you get too cold - I’ll tax the heat;
if you take a walk - I'll tax your feet.

Taxman!

I'm opposed to any such technology that tracks my behaviour, being forced into my car by the government.

What of the existing fuel tax, is it eliminated with this proposal or will this be "in addition to"?

Here in Texas, and elsewhere, we have a system that taxes by the mile (or quarter/half mile) albeit on specific highways. We call them toll roads.

Big Brother will tie it's functionality in with your driving privileges and/or vehicle registration.

Never gonna happen as long as a majority of Congress seeks reelection but it is a really stupid idea.

I will still rip it right out or just cut the wires and they will have to prove it.

Yet another brilliant idea from this POS POTUS and his group of clowns he calls staff.

Great way to punish people whom have to commute to work......also being aware of the fact that these people already pay more in high gas prices. Way to boost the economy and job market. With the plethora of jobs available , people would have to choose the one closest to their home.

Or wait, is this just another way to try to push his socialized mass transportation ideas? Once again not showing what is best for this economy, just being his normal stupid, narcissist self and trying to get what he wants?

Those whom support this idiot should hide their faces in shame.
