That is what I don't get. Barbra Streisand has been a HUGE supporter of Israel since the 60s yet she goes to the Obama White House???????

I don't support his candidacy, but I do agree with him on this.

I was responding to a poster who was basically saying we should mind our own business. And yes I favor Ron Paul. Doesn't mean I agree with him 100%; does anyone agree 100% with any candidate? Anyway, I do think we need to significantly taper back on our foreign aid/intervention. But there needs to be a plan for the gradual reduction and certainly we shouldn't be slapping our long term allies in the face like Obama just did by basically telling Israel to go swim with the sharks at the same time Obama is feeding the sharks.

I have no problem with humanitarian aid when called for, otherwise I'd shut the tap and let them learn to coexist without any interference from the US.

She may be able to sing beautifully but other than that, I don't think Barbra is the brightest bulb in the vanity.

Seems like a pretty big difference to overlook especially considering your reaction to the President's speech. You do know that Mr. Paul has said that we shouldn't be favoring Israel over the Palestinians, right? Does that not qualify as a 'slap in the face'? Does that also presage the 'beginning of the end of Israel'?

How did President Obama tell Israel 'go go swim with the sharks?' His policy is pretty the same as has been put forward by presidents for the past 12 years, if not longer. And, he noted Israel's rightful reticence to deal with people who question its right to exist.
So...

it isn't like they are going to pay attention to what obama said today:

Netanyahu said he appreciated Obama's remarks, but rejected any withdrawal to what he called "indefensible" 1967 borders. He said such a withdrawal would jeopardize Israel's security and leave major West Bank settlements outside Israeli borders.

i do think it is inappropriate of our president to try and define israel's borders, and our country needs to stay completely out of their negotiations.

Well the point is for the last 40 yrs or so the liberal Jewish community which includes many in Hollywood has been a big supporter of Israel and critical of any President who they felt didn't back or support Israel enough.

So how will they respond to this?

I used Streisand as an example as she has been a very vocal supporter of Israel, if George Bush was doing what Obama is doing she would have something to say.

Will she speak up now and will others is the question?

Allen West on Obama Backing Palestine: ‘Could Be the Beginning of the End’ for Israel | The Blaze

Anybody sincerely think Obama's plan is really a feasible one? Anyone care to share what is in their crystal ball? I fear for Israel.
I don't think so. I think Obama has recklessly forced Israel to take a stand at this point. I can't imagine that Israelis will acquiesce to the wishes of Obama.
