First off, you can't read.

I said they are FOR relaxing regulations designed to benefit the disabled.

You've turned that into I said the "were" able to do that.

Here's one of the leaders of the right/tea party/libertarian arguing just that thing at the 3:30 mark.

He says business should not be forced to accomodate the disabled. PERIOD!!!!!

So how exactly is this a partisan issue? Face it everyone, this was simply a tasteless protest at an inappropriate time - and it had/has nothing to do with left vs right, or they'd have picked a Republican-run organization to bother.

The problem is that at post 31 you agreed with a poster saying this was right wing propaganda. That post politicized it. And although a Kennedy founded the organization it certainly isn't the right wing that believes that fetuses with downs syndrome should be aborted.

And although I believe you were being kind in your post stating that the participants are supposed to be addressed as intellectually challenged I would like to point out that at the time I was working with this subset of the population the correct terminology was developmentally disabled.

I believe that many of the problems people have with all the political correctness of the new age is the speed with which this terminology changes. During the years I spent working in this field so much money was wasted making these changes such as persons served to clients served etc. and each time a change occurs all the manuals etc must be updated to reflect the change. None of these changes helped the people I worked with in any way and none made them look at themselves in a different light. The afflictions they have didn't change with terminology. It's bull crap plain and simple. If we were to spend money on developing more effective planning and quit with worrying so much about the PC end of things our money would be better spent. This is part of what has gotten us into the mess we are in financially.

Can anyone honestly tell me that someone is going to be hurt because someone calls them developmentally disabled as opposed to intellectually disabled? People making these changes need to look at themselves and answer one question. Who does the change in terminology actually affect? Instead of wasting time and efforts in changing the outward superficial appearance of something why not put your talents to better use and change something in their lives that truly betters their situation, not just something that makes "YOU" feel better. (Not directed at you personally, I'm trying to make a point)

Since you chose to play semantics here I guess I will as well. Your implication is that the right wing wants to take everything from disabled individuals and the left tries to help them. In this instance you are using Ron Paul and in your first reference it was Walker.

At least in this instance you used the word FORCED.

It's ironic that you fail to mention that the left would find downs syndrome a perfectly good reason to abort a fetus thus not being very accomodating IMHO.

Yes I'm sure it's news to you but regulations do "force" companies to do certain things.

Thanks for stating the obvious....LOL

The video supports what I said 100%. No "semantics" needed if you can read.

It's sad that the union thugs were being filmed.

Those Special Olympians would have made for some easy skull crackin' and leg breakin' but that would have played even worse on the www.

Those student protestors DID NOT interfere in any way with the Special Olympians. That is clear if you bother to watch the video, and hear the comments from the event organizers.

Walker should be ashamed, handing out plastic medals with one hand, while slashing the state social services that kids like these rely on to live with the other. He must not not be allowed to show his face in public in Wisc without hearing it from representatives of the Working Class, who his pirate corporatist policies are endangering.

Let's keep the protests going, right into the recalls.
I can't believe that there are actually scumbags out there defending this behavior. Can you IMAGINE if it was a rightwing group doing this?

Yes they DID interfere. Disrupting IS interfering. But as the union thugs have shown time and again, THEY are the ones without feelings for anyone but themselves and their precious union contracts.

You also haven't shown me anywhere that services have been cut to these kids. So I'm going with it being a typical fearmongering lie from the left.

Go ahead. Keep the protests going. It just makes you all look like the pond scum that you truly are. I wish I lived there. I would have physically removed them from the area, by any means possible.

Notice the blood on their shirts? I'm SURE the left has come out against that sort of thing. Because they're all about civility. Oh wait, they're NOT.

Shameless, but these are the same guys that sued to demand that the taxpayers fund their erections.

MADISON, Wis. — With the district in a financial crisis and hundreds of its members facing layoffs, the Milwaukee teachers union is taking a peculiar stand: fighting to get its taxpayer-funded Viagra back.

At least one lawmaker questioned why the union is fighting for Viagra while teachers are losing their jobs. A consultant for the school board has estimated that reinstating the drug benefit would cost $786,000 per year – the cost to keep perhaps a dozen first-year teachers employed.
