Fair enough. We obviously have a difference of opinion, but I can respect your stance, as well as appreciate that you took time to read the statement. Many here have not read it. It does not say she will ban pornography, it acknowledges that pornography undermines family values, and in some cases can pose a threat to children. I just wish more people would take the time to inform themselves before spouting off.
PS, I'm not even a Bachman supporter!
If you know history , especially say, right before WWII, you'd know that big movements start off very tiny....almost in unnoticeable increments.....start talking about porn, when there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it and it is NOT an important issue and SOME people will think you have a bigger plan further down the road.
Remember, this is the idiot who advised Miinesotans to be QUOTE, "armed and dangerous" concerning the census.
I could add a whole list of BonkersBachmannisms but this is one person all freedom and liberty loving Americans should be very, very afraid of...
I guess you just want to continue in ignorance of her stance on the issue. I've provided the information of what she ACTUALLY SIGNED, not just some news link or the opinions of others on the forum. This is the document she actually signed. It's a fact. If you can't take the time to educate yourself on the facts, I can't and won't take the time to discuss it any further with you.
"""" It happily tells us "Slavery had a disastrous impact on African-American families, yet sadly a child born into slavery in 1860 was more likely to be raised by his mother and father in a two-parent household than was an African-American baby born after the election of the USA‟s first African-American President." """
IGNORANCE!!!! Yup, right there....TOTAL and complete...
You are RIGHT!
MORE people have to see what this demented freak, and her supporters , believes in!!!
Bachmann's obsession with gay culture led her to bizarre behavioral extremes. In April 2005, after the State Senate refused to even vote on her constitutional amendment, she hid in the bushes outside the State Capitol during a gay-rights rally. A photo shows Bachmann, only the top of her Stepford head visible, crouched alone in an extreme catcher's squat behind the Capitol shrubbery. She later insisted she wasn't hiding at all, but resting because her heels hurt.
Before you dismiss it as ignorance, check end note 3, better yet, check the study that end note 3 references. Dismissing it as ignorance before knowing what you are talking about is, well, ignorant.

The "What about the children" argument is a sure sign of weakness if there ever was one. It's the go-to when you've got nothing else to support your points.

And note well the source cited in note 3 places that trend at least as early as 1940 but yeah, gotta be Obama's fault!
That pretty much sums up Bachmann...she keeps opening her mouth and she'll make her friend, Palin, start looking almost intelligent.
I feel almost sorry for Repugs....they want so desperately to have a woman run for office but they STILL don't get it....women are NOT just for looks.....they need a brain....and there ARE Republican women with brains who are far superior to Bachmann or Palin...but Republican's inbred sexism and misogyny prevent them from even considering a woman who isn't good looking in the traditional sense.....so they make themselves look like fools with whackadoodle caricatures like Palin and Bachmann.
Pretty much sums up the Republican party platform as a whole actually.
Just as with the drug war, even if you make porn against the law, people are still going to make it, watch it, and buy it.
Things like this are impossible to outlaw, which is why you make them legal, and regulate them.

Yeah, right! Just like someone would NEVER tell you not to look at the elephant in the room unless he wanted you to look at it, eh?
Please, cut the crap! You know as well as I do there was absolutely NO REASON to bring up Obama in the context they did other than making an asinine, lame, baseless attempt at directing blame. Either that or you're 4 years old
-----Liberals have a completely relativistic view of the world where there is no right and wrong. The whole world would look like "Lord of the Flies" if they had their way.
Lord Of The Flies was an example of a DEREGULATED society. Anarchy with the bullies gaining power.

This has always been true. The dilemma for righties is how to apply laws to others while exempting themselves. They haven't figured it out yet, but they're always trying. Notice the complete disregard of hypocrisy in their actions and statements. Remember their "moral outrage" over Clinton?

Yes, many yearn for an earlier, less complicated time when everything (and everybody) had its place. They might bring back witch-burning and slavery. The new "witches" would be non-conformists or anybody else the powers-that-be don't like (just like that previous era). It all stems from fear and a desire for "stability".

Not discussed openly? Sex is really that bad?
