Quote:
Millions of Americans endured financial calamities in the recession. But for many in the black community, job loss has knocked them out of the middle class and back into poverty. And some experts warn of a historic reversal of hard-won economic gains that took black people decades to achieve.

...more black people than ever before could fall out of the middle class because the unemployment rate for college-educated blacks recently peaked and blacks are overrepresented in state and local government jobs. Those are jobs that are being eliminated because of massive budget shortfalls.

...Some see a bitter irony in soaring black unemployment and the decline of the black middle class on the watch of the first black president.

...[Princeton Professor Cornel] West said Obama sold out the poor to become “a black mascot of Wall Street oligarchs and a black puppet of corporate plutocrats. . . . I don’t think in good conscience I could tell anybody to vote for Obama.”
The disappearing black middle class - Chicago Sun-Times

Blacks have fared the worst under the Obama admin by far - he's set them back DECADES - but how much do you want to bet they'll almost all still vote for him in 2012 anyway?

The recession was Bush's making. Black people know who took a dump on us.

So, let's get this straight: You two believe that blacks are incapable of making a sound decision about who to vote for, correct?

Dude there's no denying that black people these days will vote overwhelmingly democrat no matter what. Doesn't make them stupid or anything, there are reasons for it obviously but you have to consider that something is not right when the majority of non-blacks is split down the middle.

Obama made a bad situation caused by too much government interference MUCH worse. His policies have set the achievements made by blacks back by DECADES.

Was voting for Obama worth it?

The GOP has many members, both in leadership positions and rank and file that view Blacks in extremely negative light. Read some of the posts on CD. Perhaps this is the reason less then 10% of Blacks for for the GOP.

I agree. However I don't believe that Obama has done any better, honestly. The truth is that black people are NOT doing any better under Obama, than they were under Bush. I realize that most black people love Obama, or think he's done a "good enough" job given the mess that he was given. For these reasons I believe that most are likely to vote for him again. But the numbers speak for themselves(for me at least), that and many other issues I've seen with some of the decisions he's made since he's been president. As a woman of color I won't be voting for him again in 2012.

I don't want to see any group of citizens lose the achievements they've made. Do you?
