Even Michigan has spend down requirements and an asset test (altho they are probably more lenient than most states). Owning a house, car, some stock and having a savings account (even tho it was rapidly depleted) is most likely gonna put a person over the threshhold in every state. (Maybe not Oregon - not sure what their requirements are now).
Why should how wealthy you are or what you have or don't have decide whether you live or die in 21st Century America?
Why does someone who plays it safe die from a tragic accident versus an adrenalin junkie who seems to defy death continuously? Because life isn't fair sometimes.
Where did the 'yes we can" attitude disappear to in America?
Obamacare destroyed that optimism.
But, I would say that doctors who are refusing insurance have that "yes we can" atittude. As in yes we can give more personalized care at lower prices.
How about letting doctors compete in a free market system instead of allowing the AMA to control how many medical schools open and close in the USA to prop up the number of graduates. Medicine is one big racket. Medicine in this country functions exactly like a union. You ever see an out of work doctor? HECK NO! If it wasn't for medicaid/medicare patients 50% of hospitals would go out of business. Doctors should be thankful there are medicaid and medicare patients still around. How many young people do you see in the hospital? Many idiots fail to realize not all doctors are PCP's in primary care. A good majority of doctors are employed at the hospital level. Doctors don't compete in a capitalistic market AT ALL. And most of them probably couldn't.

So because of a "junkie" we must all suffer. It should be despite the "junkie" we ALL win

Obama didn't want the so called "Obamacare" ... that was NOT what he suggested... He wanted a single payer UHC but could not get anything but this watered down bill passed. Just like this current debt ceiling debacle... health was held to ransom by both houses...... Pathetic.
