Interesting. 10%
That's a big difference.

People can be so dense. The entire 47% argument is a lie, a complete and unadulterated lie.
The truth is the majority of tax paid by working people is payroll taxes.
Those taxes are capped at $106K to protect the rich.
Let me show you how this scam works.
In the first place, they tell you payroll taxes are paid 50% by the employee and 50% by the employer.
Lies! 100% is paid by the employee! Wages are adjusted downward to compensate for payroll taxes.
When an employer figures what they can pay an employee, they figure total compensation. That means a set figure that they then subtract taxes and benefits from to arrive at the wage that the employee considers their pay.
If the employer did not have to pay payroll tax, they would be able to pay the employee more in their paycheck.
Now how much are payroll taxes? 6.2 for Social Security and 1.45 for Medicare, for a total of 7.65% multiplied by 2 is 15.3%!
That is without UI insurance, which can add between another 1 and 5%.
Now some will say that that money goes to the Social Security Trust Fund but that is another LIE. After paying current recipients, the rest goes straight into the general tax fund.
So in truth every worker is in at least the 16.3% tax bracket, with the exception of those making $106K+.
The upper middle class gets hosed again paying up to 35% in income tax.
Now don't even get me started on sales taxes.
So quit with the lies.
When it comes to working people there are two classes, the ones who get hosed, and the ones who get hosed even harder.
